At a bare minimum I’d be demanding to know the basis for that comment.Iamoverit, snowlauncher and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
You could find the nastiest bar up the street from the terminal and give the roughest bikers you see in there a wad of money to go have a pep talk with them
hope not dumb twucker and snowlauncher Thank this. -
If you have the money, you can find a lawyer to take the case. We live in a country where anyone can be sued for anything if a man has enough funds to feed the legal team.

Is it libel? I wouldn't personally think so. Does the information reported need to be accurate in order to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act? You betcha! So, when you get your report from HireRight you should review it. All the errors or information you wish to dispute, you should dispute. Then, if the disputed information is not corrected or removed, you should seek an attorney, if you want to go down the rabbit hole with the issue. A comment could be inaccurate in and of itself, of course, so it could be that disputing it could get it resolved. Maybe at a minimum the company will change the comment so it isn't so vague, which could in turn be worse and not better.
Not saying this is it, but it could be that somehow someone else's employment record is showing up on your HireRight report. This is what happened in my case, specifically. Their "technology" only matches the first 3 letters of your last name, first name, and a limited portion of your social. So, potentially any information within those "parameters" could appear on your report even if the name is completely different from yours. And yes, before you ask, some safety numb nuts will say "well its from this report so it must be you" despite the name being different. In my case, it was a drunk driving conviction in a state of which I have never lived, with a license I never had. -
The way I wrote this was maybe confusing bc I was talking about 2 different trucking companies. I was fired from Covenant-Land Air for running the yellow light. I had been on probabtion for another policy violation which was a uturn. It was at a green arrow, legal and uneventful. It was allowed at SRT, and we'd just changed over.
I was fired from US Xpress also for a uturn, but this was as a bobtail, and it was on a divided hyway. I had to make a uturn to get to customers driveway. Also had a green arrow, and no one was around anyway. It was like one-thirty in the morning and I was picking up a trailer. I did make a mistake. There was a sign to make uturn but the light intended for it must have been the next one. It was dark and I was already stopped at light in that lane. I thought maybe I would go down the rd and turn around on it somewhere but when I started to and the headlights shined down the road, I could see that there wouldn't be anywhere bc gates were locked up. There was plenty of room to make a uturn though. My whole issue is that this is not a safety concern. The person in safety had a misson to get rid of some people, I think. I mean one time he pulled up a video of me going over a railroad track, in a 55mph zone. I slowed down to 35, which seemed reasonable, and this guy was shouting that "that's way too fast!" Another time I was slightly over the stop sign line, still behind the stop sign, and he is like "this is so dangerous!" I mean again no one was on the road, the actual intersection was like still 6 ft ahead. Another time this guy pulls up video of a bunch of us passing a slow car, and says "someone is going to get killed!" , the video shows us in a line passing normally, plenty of space between each vehicle, and again completely uneventful. The way that he was acting was crazy. So is he really crazy? or does he just have to eliminate people?
If you watch someone ALL the time for months, eventually they probably will make a small mistake.hope not dumb twucker and Lonesome Thank this. -

I found a site to file a complaint. So I did that against US Xpress a couple weeks ago. The site claimed that companies will resolve the issue. It said US Xpress had a 40something % resolve rate. I've heard nothing and I checked it and now it says 5% resolve rate. I don't know why they make it so hard to get things changed, but this is why I think there should be some kind of consequences for putting false information. The companies don't advise people to make sure they are being truthful, they don't care, it is just the drivers problem to deal with. I don't think they will ever care unless there is some kind of consequence.
