Hey y'all,
I currently drive for PAM Transport, making $580 - $850/week after taxes, out 3 weeks at a time. I'm looking for more money and home time, so I’m considering two accounts with US Xpress. All info given to me by a recruiter. Any advice?
Account 1: Tractor Supply
Account 2: Regional Fleet
- Home weekly
- Inconsistent delivery locations
- Some night driving, avg. 144 miles/2 stops per day
- Potential for multiple loads/day, must take trailer home
- Weekends required, days off set by driver manager
- Avg. pay: $1,400/week (2,000 miles, 6 loads)
- No-touch freight, 34-hour reset at home
- Starts at $0.52 CPM
- Additional Compensation: Flat Rate per Load: $50.00 Stops: $25.00 each
Congested City Pay (NYC for example): $150.00 per visit
Detention Pay: $12.50/hour after the
first 2 hours
Thoughts? Which would you choose?
- Home weekly, 34-hour reset
• Night driving not required. Drive when you want (similar to OTR)
- Avg. 1,100-1,500 miles/week, optional weekend freight
- Live loads, preloaded trailers
- Can take tractor and/or trailer home
- Pay starts at $0.80/mile for 3-11 months experience. << IS THIS TRUE??
- Performance bonuses
- Additional pay for multi-stop ($20/$35/$50) and detention ($12.50/hr after 2 hrs)
- Congested city pay (NYC for example): $65 per visit

Your pay will be about half of what is stated here.....recruiter lies!Kyle G. Thanks this. -
I thought the .80 per mile had to be a typo, but if that account is only getting 1100 miles a week, then at the end of the week you won't be making any more money than you are now.
I don't think the tractor supply gig sounds too bad. The inconsistent days off kinda sucks, but the pay is decent, runs will be more predictable, after awhile you will become familiar with different stores and how they operate (I've never worked there, I'm only guessing). Some of the stores may even let you park in their lot overnight.
That said, if money and home time are what you are after, there may be better options depending on your location.
Maybe something local that pays hourly? -
We know he currently works for PAM, so he has nowhere to go but up. LOLChinatown Thanks this. -

How does the Tractor Supply account end up saying 144 average miles per day and 2,000 per week?
Kyle G. Thanks this.
