I think TMC trucks are governed at 65mph. As for Cyprus that does sound like a good deal. The position out of Jacksonville that I applied for was a regional flatbed position that's home on the weekends. How fast are Cypress trucks? Also with Pritchett I wasn't thinking about them. Actually my instructor in school was trying to talk us out of working for them because he was saying they work you very hard there.

You do not want to drive for Cypress. In 2014 I was there for 4 months moving gypsum from Inverness to Jax. Two trips a day resulted in 12+ hours of driving. They operated under a different work/driving schedule. I slept on-site in their windowless recruiter rooms because I wasn't able to get enough sleep between shifts when I drove home. The trailer hinge they assigned me broke as I was dumping the gypsum. The big bucket shifted to the right and away I went. They decided to get rid of me and the way they do it is offer the option of OTR flatbed or resign. If you flatbed, they will leave you somewhere until you quit. I already heard stories about their processes & policies. So I resigned. I found out later from the drivers I worked with there that I was the 3rd guy to get that trailer and fired because it broke under my possession. I doubt Bob Pace still oversees the gypsum loads. But if he is still there, you're screwed. You'll see.
Only way to be accepted there is if you are a retired Marine.
You'll see. Good luck. Start searching for your next job now.

I worked for bob pace, he was no gem but he’s no longer there and the dump woes you had are irrelevant to flatbed. I ran the same account you did, when dumps were slow they’d let us run flatbed, it’s all in perspective and obviously yours is negative based on your rollover, but your input of cypress honestly is not an accurate one, I spent a year there and they were fine, treated me fairly and maintained their equipment. Trucks are 65mph. I’m not saying these were your circumstances, but more than likely you didn’t release your sand locks resulting in the tailgate not opening, that caused the rollover, not a faulty hinge or whatever you’re trying to describe. If I’m wrong then so be it, I’ve been pulling end dumps for over 10 years they don’t just go over without reason.

@jaws2003 did you go to the community college in Tallahassee? If so was Jeff your instructor, he and I worked together at Pritchett, we ran like madmen, long before elogs, summers were brutal, it wasn’t rare to put in 16-18 hour days, I certainly don’t miss that.

This is good to know. Seems like it will be a decent place to work at. How was it running flatbed for them? Were 90% of the loads already tarped?

Yes I did go to the community college in Tallahassee. James was my instructor. I took the night class and Mike was also there. James was saying all of that about Pritchett as well.

Truck reliability is crap shoot these days. Brand new trucks are breaking down just as much as the older trucks. Make sure you request breakdown pay for the time that you have been sitting.

Like I said earlier, I did dumps for cypress but when we were slow I did flatbeds, yes all the loads I did were already pre tarped, I’m a perfectionist though so there was a lot of straightening up to do, it’s up to you to bungee and make it look nice. Their tarps are ridiculously heavy though, each trailer had 2 tarps, same size BIG, which is cumbersome on low flat loads. I have no desire to be a flatbedder, but cypress is a good choice if you want to give it a try.

Thank you. Yes, ive seen brand new trucks on the side of the road as well. I have also asked about breakdown pay but they were acting very strange to me today. When I asked about getting another truck to finish my last two weeks and breakdown pay they were saying they thought I quit on Friday and that was it. I sent a message saying I will do two weeks and leave. The the head fleet manager was saying since my truck is still down, they have no trucks on site to issue at the terminal they were saying that it's fine and they will treat this as the two week notice. Honestly it all seems very shady to me as I was down for maintenance from Wednesday to Sunday. I saved the email I sent on the app if it "disappears "
