Weather is forecast to be dicey in the Balt /D.C. metro region for the Thursday evening rush hour - meaning when the first snowflake hits the windhield -- it is on!

Depending the actual time you can get thru there from from 2-4 imo, will be many lights but once you get on the va side it's a moms and pop truck stop with decent food right before the bridge..ride it out til Ruth Glenn va where the loves and pilot are located gl

From Wilmington DE to Richmond I would take 301, but from DC I would take I-95, as bad as it is. The only problem with the 301 route is that you cross 2 high bridges and as mentioned previously there are many traffic lights through PG and Charles counties in Maryland. Except for the portion of the route around the DC area though, 301 is much less stressful and more scenic than I-95. There are also a couple of small truck stops in Maryland before you cross the Bay Bridge. It's a nice break from the I-95 rat race.

You're talking eastern shore. It is nice over there. OP is going the other way though.

Most of those that the OP will encounter is in the 15 miles from Brandywine to the last light in La Plata at Rt. 6.

After that, it's smooth sailing and a nice ride for the next 50-some miles down to the 104mm on 95 in VA. In my opinion, it's well worth it to avoid 95 between Alexandria and Quantico.

    ncmickey Thanks this.
