USA Truck is a joke to work for. I got hired for 23 cents a mile to start. My pay is 11-13 cents in my paycheck. I only bring home checks around 100 a week. I keep on calling them asking them what is the problem with my checks, resend in all paper work, they say they will fix my checks and never get money. Every 2 weeks my truck is broken down and I end up sitting in a hotel for 5 days till it is fixed. I've had 4 trucks since Feb and all 4 of them the transmissions went and couldn't be replaced. I was given a newer truck and had a run down to NC, got a call from my manager and was told to meet another driver and swap out this truck for his. I drove 30 miles down the road and the transmission went. Their equipment is a joke. So sorry I signed up with these jokers to work for. I am now looking for other employment. The dispatchers are a bunch of hamsters running on a wheel and have no clue how to dispatch trucks. I can sit up to 5 hours between pickups and have no time left to drive yet they tell me I got to get the next load there in less hours then it really takes to get there. Tired of getting messages about how much gas I am using when it is their garbage machines that only get 2 miles to the gallon. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE STAY AWAY FROM USA TRUCK

Well did you get your 6 months in?
I stayed away from them because I knew better. Hamsters on a wheel, I like that. I'd told them to kiss my arse. I'm not trading trucks so you can give me someone else's problem. That was a bad move by them. Unless they knew you were good a finishing them off and that's what they wanted.
Good luck anyways. -
Two miles a gallon? Are you burning it or leaking it?
I_HATE_MINIVANS and Freebird135 Thank this. -
See the problem was he was putting GAS in

WanabeTrucker, Freebird135 and I_HATE_MINIVANS Thank this. -
They prob need drivers really bad lol I got a call back from them the next morning when I put in my application the night before. I've seen them on the road a few times in my state and I mean from passing them on the highway their equipment looks better then most companies that you see.
After reading this post I don't really know if I should go with them after all. -
How about 4 transmissions that can't be replaced?! You can tell this is just some bs post from another angry driver. Save it for the dinner counter pal.goodchoice10, I_HATE_MINIVANS and Freebird135 Thank this.

For one, a transmission can be replaced. But to have 4 of them go out, that's gotta be driver stupidity. Maybe nobody told him how to float gears and he's just stepping on the clutch and ramming it like you do in a stick-shift pickup truck. Or maybe he's flipping the range selector down to the low side while he's still rolling at 60 mph in nuetral.
$100 a week? I doubt that part too.
The OP just joined and this was his first post. I think it's a fly-by.Everett, Choo Choo, goodchoice10 and 3 others Thank this. -
Gotta tell ya, seems far fetched to me. Another contract holder with buyers remorse.
I see these guys here at USA all the time, they think this is sight seeing tour, with no responsibility. When they do complete a load, they forget to, fail to, or just don't scan their bills/logs and they get........"HELD RESPONSIBLE "! Oh no, someone actually expects you to do your job.
With the volume of drivers here, the ones that are sitting on the side lines are the typical problem children. Who has time to deal with that? With all the other things going on here, there are still investors that expect a return on their monies so they company is moving freight with the drivers that work.
As for the equipment.....my truck is one of the oldest in the fleet and I have little problems with it. Not to say our maintenance department is great, they are not, however, 4 trucks in a row with transmission problems? Possible, but the driver has something to do with this case I suspect. My truck idles/operates 98% of the time, no apu (icon does not work), I average 6 mpg.
.25 per mile is the lowest starting pay. The .11 he is claiming sounds like he chose that substance subsistence, tax free thing they have here. While it was more than likely an uninformed choice mar at orientation, no less a choice. One phone call to payroll will take care of that.
this story does not pass the smell test......sorry, if you chose to come here, SUCK IT UP AND QUIT EXPECTING FOLKS TO FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR DECISION. -
i lold @ 11 cpm, garbage machines and 2mpg
great thread, would read again -
I worked for usa while back, its is true there truck's trl are old and breakdown like everyboby else, but i think this was more driver error and he got fired for tearing up truck's, but thats my opion, only thing for me is a grip and is my own fault, is they wanted me too go canada and they knew i didnt have a passport, but i told em i can get close and relay it and they told me i was only truck for that load , so they let me go for refusing too cross the border without passport, other then that i really liked it there even my starter pay was.26 en going up ,i my idle was up or coulda made more, i had the old international pro star , old truck, o shure it broke down, nuthen i couldnt fix till i got back too the shop, so they could fix right, clothes hanger wire works great for holding the stack on and up right, yup got parked at a ta, empty stall both sides then heard a boom, thought someone hit my trl back , got out look, nope just the exhaust stack got tired and just layed down, o well just wire back up, good ta go , till i get back too yard, stuff that company drivers are not suppse too do , i do it anyway, its the lazy drivers who have more breakdowns and i hate driving 145 miles too a lazy driver, cause im only truck in the area, get down there, real simple fix , i get fixed , he good till it back too yard
, other then that this driver is bored or fired and just started a thread , too see if anyboby answers and get worked up over it,
