fatguy 503. You are right. I didnt do the math. You got me. But I did read that they are only keeping trucks for 18 months now. I think it was pam that changes after 500000 miles. Sry for the bad info...

At PAM, you have to turn in a hand written receipt every week for $5 for a truck wash. They put $5 on you paycheck. If you get a truck wash you have to pay for it. When I worked there I would turn in the receipts. $5 X 52 weeks = $260. Seems the white truck didn't show dirt too bad, so I washed it twice a year $35 X 2 = $70. I'd even wash it at home, when I felt like it.

Look into Millis. They have a good training program and while I believe it requires 500 up front, it cheaper in the long run. They are still really busy from the looks of things and I think you will average more on your pay than the industry average. They also have like four different pay options to choose. I think they are HHG both per diem and non, and Practical also both per diem and non. That is where I got my start years ago.

Not going to dog you anymore but did want to clarify on thing you said. 500000 or 18 months, the truth is 500000, that part you got right, or four years. The average driver drives 120000 miles per year, some a little more and most a little less. As a new driver expect to get an 06 9400, not a bad truck but USA doesn't believe in maintenance. At least their non-driving CEO doesn't, thinks he can save money by not cleaning or changing oil or fixing the front end alignment when it goes out and it does a lot with the 9400 and Pro Star. Thier two washers only spray water on your truck, they don't have high pressure washer facilities like most other trucking companies. Good luck and drive safe.

USA wants people from any area, living in the NY area means you may never see it again. Their closest yard to you would be Roanoke Va. If you have $1450 I would suggest you pay for your schooling up front, you have 10 days after you start school to do this. good luck. Oh yea, USA doesn't pay for washes ever, never, never. Washes cost you about $40, use to wash my truck only because it reflected on the kind of person I am and helps give the chicken coop folks a positive reflection on you and maybe they will let you roll rather than call you in to check your logs.

USA wont be getting trucks anytime soon and there length of haul is at a company all time low. For any company not privately owned do a little reseach into investing lots of information there
