New old stock was exactly how I meant it. I have always taken that to mean old inventory that was never opened or used. I have never looked for a more precise description as it seemed readily apparent. Run across that description often in vintage truck parts. Usually used when someone is selling items from a closed dealer or store.

Well new old stock is a automotive parts term, it means what it says, old but new OEM parts. radios are not autoparts, the parts that are in radios are but not the radios, NIB or New in Box is more of a correct term even if the box is falling apart.
Rabbi, you don't get it, they are around. I told you you got to look for them. A kid I know just got his general, he now has a 7000 he paid $500 for it - it came from me. I saw it advertised for $650 and it popped up again so I called the guy, went down to Ohio two weeks ago, met the guy and offered him $500 sight unseen, he grabbed it, said he would have taken less. I got it home, put it on the bench and there was nothing wrong with it. I was going to keep it but a friend of my wife has a son who has been over here a few times trying to get me to "teach" him electronics so I challenged him to get his ticket, then we can talk. He got his tech without studying much, so I told the kid if he got his general ticket, the radio is his for what I paid for it. The kid got his ticket last Sunday at a swap and he has the radio, I dropped it off this morning on my way out to drop my daughter off at her class.
They are out there. All kinds of deals can be found.
IF you want to know what I bought last week I will tell you, you don't have to believe me but it happened. -

Btw keep your eyes open and know what you're looking at and you can find some good deals.
Case in point, I know where there's a Cobra XL-350 amp in Elm City NC for $50, and a General Lee HP40 for $100 in Turkey NC. Both are on letgo as of right now. Do not bombard me with "where's it at?" questions. I've given all the info you need to find them if you want them. But act quickly because I'm off work all this week so you k ow I may take a road trip if no one else gets them.
One day I'll share with you some of the valuable CB gear I've picked up for a song and kept for myself or flipped for a profit.BTShepp Thanks this. -
I've gotten some good deals on letgo. I got a near perfect Cobra 29 for $20.Turbo-T Thanks this.

I think that's where I got my Magnum that I only paid a tenth of the actual value.

I purchase my radios new. Then hold on to them.
If I wanted to sell my Uniden PC76xl I would not know what price to put on it. It's bone stock and not been abused. I think I paid a bit over 100 20 years ago for it after winning it at cards in calhoun LA off the 20. It would take at least that much in mike, plug, antenna etc to get it back going again. I would just buy a cobra 19 complete for half that and strip it for what I need to get that good old radio going again. The more I think about that the easier it is for me to think about a base station here at home, Just need to find a antenna that will do windowsill duty.
