I bought a used combo flatbed and I’m going to replace the nail strips due to some missing sections. Can I use a standard treated board from Lowe’s or what? Will never use nails and only bought to haul concrete pipe to free up my aluminum flat.

If you aren't using it then you can replace it with pretty much anything that's the right size. Keep in mind cheaper woods might shrink a bit and could cause a careless forklift to snag on the far side. Wood that's too tall can catch a forklift and will cause problems with the dunnage.

Yeah apitong hardwood is preferred, but since it’s only nail strips then maybe some other kind of wood treated with Thompson’s or something may work; because there won’t be isolated weight on it.

I think apitong is rated at 20,000lbs per sq inch? It’s tough

Will be placing 4x4 the whole length of trailer as in pic for pipes to sit correctly when they have a bell.

Why replace it at all if you have no use for it?
For resale, put new wood on before sale?
The nailers don't do anything structural for the deck other than keep it a solid surface.
I'm all for having complete equipment: I have yet to see a cement pipe haul trailer that didn't get abused pretty hard.

That exactly why I bought this one. Got it at a good deal and wanted to take my good trailer off it. It was a new venture so I set up my good trailer and used one of my sleepers to see how the money was. Now I got a day cab and a older combo just for this deal. If does nothing structurally then I might just fill the holes

Treated 1by 4 fence wood from H/depo fits in the slot a few screws and your hauling pipe without tripping while walking down trailer.
