Does anyone have know if trucks from oregon would have rust or corrosion issues? I'm in the northeast and we definately have our share of winter roads

The truck (I want to purchase) looks clean but before I buy airfare I would like an opinion.

    Thank you in advance

Generally not a problem. Oregon uses sand and gravel and not much salt. Be prepared to change out the windshields, because of sandblasting, though.

I lived in Oregon for 20 years. There is some really old iron running around up there.

What, the truck you are considering only ran in Oregon?

Actually Oregon has been using mag-chloride the last few years, not as bad as salt, BUT it isn't entirely harmless either, still nothing like states that lay salt down.

I myself would want to know if the truck was plated in Oregon for 105,500 lbs. and if so, % of that kinda weight hauled in it's lifetime. If the truck did 105k constantly I'd have concerns.

It could be in Oregon today, but has been in 45 other states over the last 5 yrs, right ? But ,yeah, the west coast doesn't use that nasty salt like the East coast/midwest does.

You all have been a great help. Supposedly, the truck was used to haul livestock. The sole owner of this owned a ranch. I have received extensive pictures of the frame, interior and under the hood. I'll just have to fly out look for myself to be sure. I always wanted to see Oregon anyway.

What part of Oregon? Sounds like that might be a good find, maybe never ran outside of the NW?
