I am looking at buying one of the used Walmart International w/ISX. Has anyone bought one of these and can tell me about their experience and mpg? They show 500hp, 10spd and 3:55 I am hoping they do pretty well.
Also does anyone know what kind of maintenance program they have?
I know Walmart is always been about fuel mileage and good clean light equipment so that is a big plus and the trucks seem to be priced pretty reasonable.

I bought a wal-mart truck, but it was a intl with a 11.1 ser 60 in in it. over 11 years & 1.4 mil miles & still going. had inframe done at 1.3 mil. nothing wrong at 1.3 mil, just done inframe for preventative maint. i.m.o. wal-mart has the best maint fleet trucks out there by far.
Big John Thanks this. -
I totally agree, they do look after their equipment and spec them for MPG.

AT 1 time they were a much sought after USED truck , well specd and maintained

My dads buddy has 5 or 6 of them with the ISX in it. Ran through a few EGR's and unplugged them. Fixed that steep repair bill. One he has over a mil on and says he hadnt heard a peep out of it. Hes making money with them with very minimal maintenance issues. You can grab a 2004 2006 for 19-26 thousand in Texas, freshly removed from their fleet. Very little overhead and a great money maker these trucks are said to be. When I feel its time to step to the O/O plate a Wal Mart International comes right to mind. Just my 2 cents... Good luck.

I've been researching this same question for a while now because I plan to purchase one in march. From what I've heard they are some of the best trucks on the market. Not one bad review. I hope we get more responses on the topic.

From a dealer, auction or can you purchase from Walmart ?

They almost always have a bunch of them at the Taylor and Martin auction out here in Co.

Big van fleets don't spec like this (ie Swift). And I thought they speced for mpg. -
From what I understand he is picking them up from a dealer upon recieving them from the fleet. Im not quite sure what his relationship is with the dealer. I do know he is getting first pick from the fella, I wish I had more information for you but I dont. I will be driving for this man shortly and when I figure it out I will let you know.Big John Thanks this.
