Yes sir the majority of holland is union Decatur and Birmingham are also just not sure I want the weekly drive from mobile to Decatur every week and leaving my family been there done that and it gets old really fast but it's a good company to say the least I'm originally from the Chicago area where the union is strong and yrc/holland are highly sought after jobs

Just curious would any of you know what sysco appearance policy is?? I've always had a beard and obviously some companies won't allow that I'm ok with getting rid of it if the jobs worth it but I can't find anything saying what they'll allow

Are you sure you can bid or hire into a shuttle run? Cause if not you'll be slinging cases. If it's union it seniority base. Most food service companies you got to pay your dues. I've heard of places hiring straight shuttle though. Just make absolutely sure in case you don't want to unload trucks. Holland is all union but a crap union contract which is to expire in 2019.

Definitely pay my dues if need be obviously good companies are hard to come across so I'll do what needs to be done but would prefer to pull trailers I know from experience that case slinging is pain but security and pay it guess I take what gets me in!! Yeah holland is definitely on the fringe that up coming contract I fear will make or break them seems sketchy jumping on the such a critical time. I've heard sysco is union but I think its certain terminals so it will be a hit or miss

Even if Sysco is a shuttle job you may very well be asked to cover or help out now and then and when that happens you will be unloading cases.

Pretty much if you work for a food company it is an inevitability there will be a time when your going to have to do some unloading and delivering. Sysco though isn't going anywhere unlike USF and YRC there future is much more stable.

Very true they've been unstable for some time now my great grandfather retired from roadway so is a shame it's not the same company. I've been told for years now to get into the food industry so I'm going for it better late then never!! I'll work for my money can't stand the folks who complain about not making any money but won't work for it so hell more work more money!! Thanks for all your help its what I've been telling myself so it helps to hear it from other around the business. I had my phone interview Friday and he said he was sending my info over to the terminal manager or hiring manager and to keep an eye on my email for a face to face interview so hopefully I'm on the right track.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

My buddy works at Sysco here in Denver. 2 year driver here with a bid making 100k a year in 4 days. Sysco does pay their drivers well.

    Mike2633 and City-Boy Thank this.

Well that does show some promise I do appreciate the info!! I'm glad I asked on here it's hard to come across drivers while I'm out on the road to talk to about their experiences so this had been helpful getting feed back like this definitely helped me make my mind up. Again thanks a lot it's much appreciated

I no this post is a bit old now but would anybody have any ideas about sysco hiring time line??? Had my phone interview last Friday and I called their candidate care hotline Wednesday the lady said everything looked good but haven't heard a thing about a face to face! Just curious if it's a lengthy process with them just hate to be holding out for nothing. Thanks in advance for any advice or input
