Yeah, that's what I'm saying. A good cop will have no problem with it. If you run across one that does, there's something wrong. CYA, that's what they're there for and they won't help you if they're off.

Maybe a camera with a big ole "SMILE your being recorded on video" sticker on the doors would be as much of a theft / theif/lot lizard, mugger deterant as the posts regarding carrying weapons as theft deterants that are talked about on other posts. They might think twice about your truck if they think they are being recorded. of course the camera sticker would be by the "protected by my friends Smith & Wesson" sticker also lol
"fake " but very real looking video/security camera's can be bought at Frys electronics or others, they have a battery operated red light to make them really look like they are on. hmmmm. maybe I will do that -
problem with those security cameras is that they look real and all, but whens the last time youve seen a real security camera that had motion activated scanning with a blinking red light? only fake ones have that crap. Also, the one i have has stickers on it that say in big letters "SECURITY CAMERA". It all screams "im fake im fake!".
if you want to use one, put batteries in it just long enough to make it turn the direction you want it to face, take them out, peel off the stickers, and it'll look very real. If you want it to be noticed, always park with your parking lights on, and mount it within 6 inches of a side marker light....
I had one in my studio apartment for a while aimed at the door but the girls thought it was really weird, my bed was also in front of it, and i had to take it down for the girls to be comfortable if you know what i mean....LOL LOL LOL. I told em it was fake but once i did that it totally defeated the purpose.Last edited: Jan 6, 2010

ya I was thinking about mounting them (if I actually do this) in the cab looking down and out the side windows, the blinking red light should make it noticed....OR maybe my .44 would be just as good (not to bring up the the firearm issue- although i do a have my CCW - but still not sure if its worth risking all the legalities- but then again I d rather by shooting then being shot)
Yours is mounted outside? it must be a company one ?? waterproof etc?
but I guess you only mount it when parked? then again I guess all they would have to do is throw a coat over it and they are free to do what ever? cuz its covered
