I learned this at an ice covered dock in ND somewhere this winter. First time I've had any issue with my ishift at all. I got out but you certainly can't rock one like a manual or auto in a car.
Using the trucks cruise control while loaded?

My company truck is 2016 Cascadia with DT12. I thought I’d hate it because of experience with older autos. I love it. I talked to the mechanics on Friday and they have had almost no issues with the auto. Zero catastrophic failures.
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I’d like it more if it wasn’t locked in Economy mode. That really hurts getting the true performance from this transmission.

Also that specific AMT can be driven on,off and in clutch slip once you learn how it works.
(rookies often find the clutch protection alarm from driving in slip mode too much)
I think this was one of the nice things Eaton had in their 3 pedal Autoshift .. full clutch control.Farmerbob1 Thanks this. -
I ain’t a new guy and I don’t miss having to shift. Came out of a new KW 18-speed with a heavy slosh tanker. Every gear, every time. Up and down.
Got into a 2018 FL new model Cascadia with Detroit 12 last year. Another tanker, but no slosh. 81-84k everywhere we went. Reached for that shifter TWICE in 91k.
It’s different. That’s all.
Don’t get left behind. There are new guys who’re now better than you at getting the same truck down the road. By every measure. They’ve learned what works because they respect the equipment. You don’t.
