Just sitting!!!! It looks like it will be an all day thing in Vance, Al. First sat to get unloaded and then drove a few miles down the road to sit and wait to get loaded. Forklift driver came up and looked at our pick up sheet and laughed. Thats not a good sign, oh well what are you going to do.

Engine, I'll trade you places....at least then I would be in Alabama instead of the Ohio/Michigan line. Home time in AL is tomorrow.

It has been one messed up day. Delivered my load, dropped the trailer in the very teeny yard while dodging other trucks and trying not to hit any trailers.....hooked up, went to slide my tandems, and......someone had done something to that trailer where the front part of the rails were sitting above their holder and the pins could not pop out........over the next 8 hrs I was sent to 3 different places looking for a trailer...finally got one....now I have no time to go anywhere.

Forgot to do my day two update:

Pretty much more paperwork and presentations. Had a goo day till about 5 pm I get a note saying my former employer wasn't verifying the time I worked there. I worked there 6 yeas but they said I only worked there 2. So the day ended kinda sour but all is well.

    Day 3 update:

Back at the hotel. Got my brother to fax my w-2's to my recruiter to clear up the employment problem. Still can't figure that one out.

More presentations and pretty much at around all day after that. Got a not saying they couldn't verify my KY license I had back in '02. Couple of more calls and KY said they'd only give me the info if I paid for a driver history. Ok no problem it's only 3 bucks but they said they had to mail it to my house? WTF said they couldn't fax it to me. Called the recruiter back and he said he'd look into it since it was '02 it might not matter. So sat around all day. Just me and another student left and a few company drivers left.

Good thing is I'm still here. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day!

Hang in there, Wulfman. Seems like everything will work out for you.

When are you scheduled to head out with a trainer?

Feb. of last year I went through USX orientation in Colton, CA. On the third day I got a note asking for my driver's license number for a CA. driver license that expired in 1976! Even though they could verify that I had a perfect driving record (NO tickets or accidents) for the previous 34 yrs., they still felt the need to check back even further. Finally, after trying for two days without success, they dropped the request and sent me home to wait for a trainer. To say that USX is "ANAL" about checking everything on the application could be considered an understatement.

I wouldn't worry too much at this point Wulfman, since your still there after the first three days I would think its a pretty safe bet that they want you. Just keep jumping through their hoops as best as you can. As long as your DMV record is clean and verifiable for the most recent 8 or 9 yrs. they may eventually just drop it and get you out on the road.

Did you work for Watkins Shephard prior to this? Seems like I have seen you over there in their forums. I've worked for both W/S and USX in the past. Everyone's personal experience with trucking companies is unique and probably somewhat different from another person's. Personally, I found dispatch to be much easier to work with at W/S, but the equipment was much more dependable at USX. All the best in your venture with USX, they are a good company and you will most likely be very pleased there.
