Since I'd like to be an "extended" solo (they have that term on their hiring map) maybe I should just take what they give and drive!
I'm a guy let's stick with the men.....tried living with a girl, didn't work out, we'll leave it at that!

Saw a bumper sticker the other day on a O/O truck...."the more I understand women, the more I love my truck!"...hahaha
no offense ladies, we men certainly have our share of "issues"!

I just got the tuition approved this afternoon, called the driving school, I start on June 1, which is the "on-line" portion of study before class.......I'll be on a BIG boat tomorrow til Tuesday so taking my laptop will get me thru it.
Can't wait to get started.....I'm on my way to running into you guys (not literally..haha) on the highway!

ATL-1, I see you're from Hotlanta.....I used to work for AT&T in Buckhead!

My guess would be that 2 rookies would help each other out better and they would tend to be more paitent with each other getting started..

If and when I do OTR my teammate will be my wife and I see having a teammate as an advantage in situations like backing up and such..Just a guess..

Teams isn't bad, if you both have the same goals and safety in mind. If one is careless, or lazy, then life on the road will be hell. Run SOLO on your own when your new, and there will be a few truck stops you'll get to and wish you had a partner to wake up. I drove Solo for 7 months, and then teams for 6. When we left USX, my team mate left 2 weeks before me, so I ran Solo again for the last 2 weeks. First night back out and I got into a truck stop that was tight. Just couldn't make myself back into this hole, and their was a truck waiting behind me to get in(I honestly was in no hurry to get out of his way, considering he couldn't get out and help me). So I gave up and found another spot. Called him up the next day and told him it'd been helpful to have him. No problems after that night though.

I don't really have a problem "teaming" with somebody that's "cool" with clean personal hygiene, but we've all seen these old (and I'm old!) drivers that look like they haven't showered in a week and their IQ amounts to the same number (or lack of) of teeth in their head!
Give me a younger kid that I can communicate with and not seem like I'm at the local animal shelter!
    ........I'm just sayin'.........

I will be teaming, I won't be looking for places to park safe for the night, Just need to find someone that wants to run as hard as you do, drives safe and lives nearby for some hometime. So how is school going?

A person that you can get along with is helpful...same music, sports, etc. New drivers often find the paqrtner very helpful in hitting tight docks and such. Extra eyes are always good. So far (6 months) USX has been great!
