You are right about that Vinsanity... not all TA's suck though and to me all TS's are the same, except for Dennys but the menu gets old quick...LOL I will take him to wherever he wants to go...he is a great guy and will make a great trucker...

Ok so here we go again. I was out with another trainer and I have been holding off on posting anything because I really thought that this was going to get better.

The trainer is a nice guy and not afraid to work at all, but he is no way a trainer.

I drove the big ### red truck for 5 days. All the trainer did was surf the internet, and play games on his cell phone. He is into some sort of Wizard Role Playing game and he played it, and played it, and played it some more. I am so sick of hearing bells, whistles, pin wheels, horns, glass breaking, and the voice of you need to find this, or go search that.

When he was board with that he would play games on his phone. I was to the point more then one time, like you have to be kidding me, I have to listen this again!!!

Here is more, While I drove he watched a DVD on his laptop, and that was not good enough, he took the speaker out put and plugged it into the AUX port of the sound system in the truck so he could have surround sound. Remember he is the trainer, and I am driving 65mph on the highway at night. O'wait I forgot, someone (a driver from the DC) needed a ride to where we were going, so he is sitting in the sleeper while I am driving and the trainer is watching his DVD. I won't say what was going on the DVD but it was rated R and not a sex thing, more of a lot of swearing, and killing.

Here is another good one. I am running I40 from NC into TN, we get into TN and he is back playing his game, and it is dark out. Picture this, laptop on the shelf of the open glove box, some times he is hunched over the laptop and blocking my view of the right hand mirror too. Ok so he is playing the game, I am scanning my mirrors. Out of the corner of my eye I see Red and Blue Flashing lights I think it is a COP pulling me over, but 10 seconds later I realize it is the dam game. WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!

To go one even more. We never once did a PTI for the 5 days, never even checked the tire pressure either, no oil level check. We get another trailer at the DC every day. We do a simple check of the trailer more so to look for damage to it before whe head out, but no check of the brakes, nothing??

So I sent Darlene an e-mail yesterday that I would like to go Super Solo, I figure this would give the trainer something to do, I am denied. She e-mails back whats up? I said in simple terms, can you please contact the last 3 people he trained and ask them what did the trainer do while they drove. She again asks whats up, I said I respectfully request that you ask the last 3 students what he did while they drove.

Well today I have to call my Training Coordinator, and after calling her for 5 days, I finally reach her. She wants to get me off the truck and get me a Bus Ticket. No freaking Bus Ticket for this boy I dont do Gray Hound. I told he my PU is on Jonesville, SC, and I will be driving the big red truck back to the DC.

Any who - I get back to the DC and I get all my crap out of the truck and the trainer thinks I am going home for the weekend. He will find out what is going on when they call him.

Comments are welcome folks. Sorry this is so long, you just cant make this stuff up.

I am a good driver behind the wheel and not just a steering wheel holder. I am cautious and I pay very close attention to my corners with a 53 foot trailer too.

Anna, the only thing he did in 5 days was sit there and play games on the Net. He was a pair of eyes to help with backing at the stops we had, but I could have done it my self too. First 2 stops where blind side backs in the dark. The first one I hit it right on the money with no pull up.

Second stop I did one pull up.

Darlene had today off, so it will be interesting on what happens on Monday.

I will Train you my friend...or at least attempt to...need 30 days with the company to do that... I will call monday.

A "Trainer" is just that, a "Trainer"...but not in this industry...I know I am going to get a lot of flak for this post but I don't care...My father would say the same and he was an outlaw trucker... The reason they, (the outlaw trucker) don't train is for one reason and one reason only,,,they don't want to be put in the same catagory as the new "Trainers".

A "Trainer" today is simply doing it for the money,,,very few are actually doing it for the love of trucking... The companys let the drivers become trainers too soon! I have spoke about this before... a year is not long enough for a driver to train anyone,,,Very few exceptions apply but I stand by what I say! I have almost 4 years and there are a couple peolple I would train, my wife and my friend Renegade... I do not want the money, I want to make sure they love what I love, and care about safety, period!

I really think companys today need to be stricter on their highering practices... I have said it for years..if a company focuses on the employee's they have and pays them well, they (the employee's) will stay... less turnover.

I welcome anyones input,,, Renegade,,,don't give up brother,,stick to your standards! You will get trained, if I have to do it myself!

I fully understand people knowing the truck they are driving, and maybe not doing the PTI or a full PTI, but safety is safety too. I would think of doing a good check of things maybe every other day?? I thought USX wanted the driver to do a Pre and Post Trip Inspection??? Each and everyday I had 42k in the box. That truck needs to be able to stop for one thing!!!!

Sheepdog, I am "highly" insulted by your remark that trainers are only doing it for the money!!!!!...........(teasing you here....LOL).......you don't know me but I train because I want to teach others what I had to learn the hard way, all by myself, this past year..........BUT......I do agree with you that some trainers are only doing it for the money and that is entirely WRONG.

IF I took men on the truck I would train Renegade, but I only train women......I really hope he gets with someone soon that would train him right.
