it's hard to remember we use to run that hard, for us now as a team we almost never run over 5000 a week and our avg is 4200-4500,

right now we'er in the motel for 3 days and we have p/p's for next week of 4273 miles....

Why flood? why do you not run more than that, on average? I mean, is it the FM's or are you content with that many miles per week? Why in a hotel for 3 days? You taking time off? I am curious because as you know, my wife will be getting her CDL soon and we will be a team.... I have been teaming with Renegade since last monday and we put in 5000 miles... now have a load for CA from NJ... they been throwing them at me and I pray that is how it goes with wife and me...

when we were company drivers for over 7 years and we ran 6708 paid miles every week but now we are o/o (not lease, it's our truck).

we could run more but we don't need too to make a good check

most weeks we make 2 runs that take us 4-5 days 4200-4600 miles a week

as o/o we pay for fuel and at .5-.6 gph to idle thats 14-16 gl a day to idle so we would spend $59 plus a day to idle and we can get a room for $44 a day....

right now our week works something like this p/u sun 1400, stop mon 0800, del tues 0200, p/u tues 0330, stop wed 1200, del thur 1600 and sit till the next sunday, 4458 miles and back to the motel for 2 days. ware the runs go changes from week to week.

and no we don't make the standard usx pay

Roger that Flood,,,you answered my questions exactly as I thought you would... I actually forgot you telling me not too long ago, that you were O/O's.. I can see the value in staying in a hotel for two days versus idling the truck... fuel costs plus wear and tear on motor can add up over the long run.

If your happy with what you and your wife get for miles and runs that is great! I too would like to some day buy my own truck and like you, it won't be no lease! I have my sites on the near future when the wife and I start our lives over, and our new dedication to our future and the futures of our children and grandchlidren...

God bless you flood, your wife and your family...

Well I am home. SheepDog and I got in late last night. The folks at USX called at the last minute and tried to setup the upgrade for 8am this morning. They did not setup a hotel room or much of anything else. Earlier in the day I had called my girlfriend and asked her to do the 3.5 hour drive to come get me, so that I could spend time with her, do a few things around my home, and just to take it easy for a few days. I see no reason why they can not do the upgrade next week.

I will post back with how things go with the upgrade.

Thank you very much SheepDog for stepping up to help me out with everything. He maybe looking for at least one more student to teach before his wife comes to USX, so if you are reading this and need a trainer, you can try to contact him.

HD, they told me yesterday they weren't taking any new students on right now, I have a friend in school here in Tampa and he and I were trrying to come on as a team but they told me no because of his student status!
Guess I'll stay where I am and let him get his feet wet somewhere else.

SheepDogs wife told him that there were 100 people in Orientation at Tunnel Hill just a week ago. No way that a good amount of those were not to be students. I would maybe call them again and see what someone else would tell you. Also try their Face Book page too.
