Well I do wonder that too!!! It does kind of make you wonder if they are this way only because so many people just walkaway from trucking with such the high turn over rate?

You and I have talked brother, so I know all that is going on... My post here is to say that I know what you mean about them making you feel like they want you off asap...My own FM does that but, she don't get to hang up until I am done...LOL

I think it's ridiculous that you had to continuously call them. They should have called you first thing this morning. They probably couldn't get you off the phone fast enough because they are embarrassed about the whole situation...at least they should be! Maybe they need more training in administration. I hope you give it another shot next week...at least try to get 6mo in for your record. Anywho...wish you luck!

Moma - Thank you. I just hate the thought to go to work for someone just to get 6 months in for the exp. I just seems wrong to do that if the plan is to leave later. I like to think that I am honest with everything I do.

I am trying to go to work for USX and the thought would be to stay there because they treated people decent and they took care of the driver and equipment too? Go a head and say, I am dreaming!!!

I totally understand HD...I am just saying 6mo so it would look better. I really hope you are not "dreaming"...if so, we will bumb into eachother! lol. I too believe there are companies who will take care of their drivers and equipment. I was just trying to stay positive about usx...give them the benefit of the doubt. I will be reading and listening carefully to your situation, as well as a couple other drivers of usx.

The bad part here is I want to do this, and not be one of the folks that just jumped in, and left the industry a very short time later.

There was one other guy on here that had a really bad time with a trainer too, but I am not sure what ever happened to him. I sent him an e-mail, but no reply from him in a few weeks.

I know you don't understand what I stated,,but all the exp. drivers do and will... the trucking industry is changing very fast,,you are a GREAT fit for it.. Its a changing of the guard, so to speak... The old timers, most, cant or wont keep up with the change..they have been doing things their way for so long, too late to change now or just plain don't want to..I understand that. My father would be feeling the same way.. I have gotten into it as the guard is a chaning,, I am computer savy and know what it takes to stay on top... When I say "some of these new drivers" I am saying the ones that are ONLY doing it to make money because they dont have any other way, in their mind, to do it... In other words, they wouldn't pick truckdriving if they didn't have to.. I picked it, because I wanted something different and honestly, it was an easy choice for me, since it was part of my life growing up. I fit right in and LOVE it! Most that come in today,,don't love it, they cant stand being out on the road, are always miserable and make other around them miserable.. That is why we have such a major turnover rate at this time. It has been going on for a long time but gotten worse since 2008, when the econamy went south. Than to add more wood to the fire,,,or laws,,the fmcsa is going gang busters with regulations... It is only going to get worse in the near future. You my friend will do just fine, I believe anyway. You aren't doing it because you have to, your doing it because you want to.. dont give up on USX, they will get you a trainer.

I come from a family of truckers...my father was a trucker for over 20yrs, my Dad was a trucker for over 30yrs, my father-in-law (30+YRS) & mother-in-law. Then my husband for about 4yrs. I have a bit more of a clue than the average joe..but really? Is this what trucking has come down to? I know alot has changed, but are these people in the offices getting ANY training at all? The turnover rate is through the roof! Oh how I would love to be in administration again and be the one asking these managers where the wasted fuel $ was going to come from? Do they even have incentive programs anymore!#*&%!:biggrin_25513:
