Good miles are key but sitting to get loaded or unloaded is the down side...LOL We have no problem with this fleet, except of late, and thankful for the miles...

Grocery DC's are not known for fast unloads, they have to QC the loads and often refuse part of the load if not perfect.
Keep an eye on your reefer unit to make sure it stays at the right temps.

Craig, do you get to drop and hook at all with your grocery loads?

Now the "reefer" side sounds interesting! Do they go coast-to-coast or regional?

Amy's Kitchen near Medford Oregon is the only shipper that comes to mind where we had a drop and hook at pickup. Nice setup there. It is a live unload at the other end however. Lots of times we drop at a terminal since the delivery appointment may be two days later. As a reefer team, you will also be delivering said dropped loads when needed.

Coast to Coast. There are no regional reefer opportunities that I am aware of but I have also not asked.

Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to enlighten my little brain...........
are there "solos" in reefer or just teams?
    Also, anybody just chime in..............
If I get hired by USX can I request a new truck on the assumption that I will eventually want to Lease that truck?
I'm just thinking it would be an incentive for me to go with USX if I could follow thru with my "intentions"!
THX! I hope to meet some of you guys eventually, sounds like a good group!

No, I haven't applied yet........you think I should go ahead and do that?
I'm getting the driving school paid for thru WORKSOURCE WIA program, and they needed a "pre-hire" letter, so my driving School (National) told me to go online and apply at COVENANT, which I did and got a pre-hire letter back in one hour......then fax'd that to WIA waiting for the approval.

I kinda wanted to wait to make sure I'm getting financial aid, looks like it'll be approved, so there's no harm in applying to USX, right?
Thanks for the help from you guys!
