I really want this company to workout for me because they gave me a chance ... and I would like to return the favor.

Actually $150K is on the LOW SIDE on a brand new individual semi tractor straight out of the factory. Average is around $175-178K. Highest I've seen is around $200K for a new tractor, but mostly for special order or custom jobs.

Well of course not, they're buying in FLEET,and as such, the manufacturer will give them a little bit of a discount. But an INDIVIDUAL tractor by itself, that's a different story.;)

########! There are hundreds of new trucks listed on Truck paper that are under 160k and those are trucks with lift axles and heavier frames than a standard fleet truck. There are thousands more that are not listed.

But those"new trucks" have some miles under their belt already. I'm talking about brand new, straight out of the factory, with 0 to 20 miles on the odometer.

I am guessing that NONE of you responding to this thread have ever fixed anything only to find out later it was not fixed. Sounds like someone needs a thicker skin and needs to do some laundry to get some clean big girl panties. And Yes I have had all the lights go out on me. Then in another truck they would constantly flash from low beam to high beam and back. Strobe light on wheels.

If they cannot duplicate the issue, the only way to find out is to put it back on the road and see if it does it again. How far had you driven it before it happened? Shops are only going to run them a couple of miles.

If this bugs you so much at this stage in the game, find a new career you won't make it.

So am I. They are brand new trucks and only a few will have miles on it as the tow vehicle.

Actually I had electrical issues with the Volvo I drove when I worked for Western Express. Same issue repeated itself, truck was showing a high voltage warning(power spiking from 14.7 volts to as high as 16.3). At first the Nashville shop replaced the alternator (2 day wait on that inspite of the fact that the Nacarato Volvo dealership was 15 minutes away in LaVergne). A few months later, same issue, high voltage warning with associated power spikes and a real slow crank on startup (in one case the truck actually had to be jumped when I was coming off home time- and battery power was shut off to the truck the 5 days I was home(SOP)). Was routed to a repair shop outside of Syracuse, N.Y. while under a load, where the battery power shutoff switch was replaced and the bolts to the battery connections were properly tightened. The old switch showed signs of wire arcing( the resistor on the back of the switch was cracked and burnt from heat damage, any further and there would've been a fire.

Anyone who has dealt with Western Express' breakdown department will tell you, their classic line for diagnosing issues is this phrase: "DID YOU DRAIN YOUR AIR TANKS?"
