Well must not been around Atlanta. even in St Louis I had a near miss with a guy guy from Atlanta. An eldery ly guy did a 90 degree turn and cross in front of me to get off on an exit.

Atlanta it a game to cause a Trucker to wreck. On I 285 I had a old Chevy with 2 guys in it cut in on me where I could only see their roof, then slam on breaks. Then I noticed the passenger turning around laughing. Later I got a call from the broker check to see if I made it, shortly after they did it to me, they did it to another driver. That driver was not so lucky, lost his life.

I agree.. yeah, I've not driven a rig in Boston, NYC or Miami. yet.

I find that while Kalifornia drivers make me nervous,it's not because of what most of them do - it's the fear that the one I'm looking at WON'T drive like a Kalifornian.

Utah? Utah? I drive through SLC almost weekly these days. Not a problem at all. Only difference between SLC and (say) Bay Area Kalifornia is SLC has a little less consistency.

I STILL maintain that the worst place to drive is Atlanta. I've managed to avoid it mostly, but every time I've been through, I've noted the quantities of car parts scattered along side the road - which,I'm sure, is in direct correspondence with the lack of space between high-speed vehicles. Not just 4-wheelers, either. Nothing quite so disturbing as seeing 5 or 6 big rigs flying down the highway with maybe- MAYBE a car-length between each truck.

Still, ignoring the author's fixation on Utah/SLC, he is,of course, dead right

If you all would like an adventure in driving, try the Otay Border area for a drop sometime.
You have drivers (not 4-wheelers mind you, Truck Drivers) there going to and from Mexico who drive like they are running on NASCAR time. :biggrin_2555::biggrin_2555::biggrin_2555:

Been to those border towns more then what I would of liked to been... They are crazy. Example: you in the left turn lane following other trucks turning. You have to be very careful to the Mexicans flying around you on the right and turning with you even though that lane is supposed to be going strait. Stop sign? ya right they fly 50 mph threw a stop sign..... Turn signal? I don't even think their trucks have them... in a traffic jam? they will drive in the grass all the way down the side and cut in on somebody... I could keep going on and on...

I hope they find the jerks and try them for manslaughter.
