I was told $65k for a SS a couple months back. The new stainless looks like garbage and you can tell it’s thinner than the older models so I don’t think I’ll get around to that ever unless they want to make me one that looks old school and add an extra rib at the top and a few at the bottom and put the thicker gauge on it. Was going to buy without a unit and use the one I have after the money I’ve dumped into it. Runs great too so money already spent is money saved. Consider that as well if you have good working older unit or can get one. New stuff is for rich folks and big companies. You can also buy a new unit and a good older trailer as well.

My 2007 utility and carrier ultra xtc was holding -2 degrees in Ontario Oregon while it was 104 degrees outside, I was seeing newer reefers barely holding +5, I was in the market for reefer trailers for a little over a year and it's just not worth spending that kind of money right now, I remember back in 2016 u could buy a brand new great dane everest with carrier X4 7500 or Thermoking S600 or S700 for a little over 50k out the door, even then those prices were expensive for me lolTrucker61016 Thanks this.

Ford F-350 crew cab diesel 4x4 will run you almost that much. The last price I saw on a new T-800 KW was 145 grand.Trucker61016 Thanks this.

What’s really going to get you is that some rich jerks out there are buying all the used trailers and marking them up 100%. Look at all the auction prices. They buy them for 1/2 price so no one can buy a decent trailer from a company for the price they were sold at. I was going to bid on an older trailer (2007) to replace my box and all of a sudden the price jumped up to being more than the trailer was worth when it went from $600 to over $10k in just a few bids. Seems like a scam 100%.Buckeyes614 Thanks this.

Most definitely these auction houses are bidding up the prices, especially now since they know the used market is over priced. The thing I'm worried about now is part shortages for truck or trailers.

Where can I find these new trailers?
-
73k for complete trailer not bad paid 61k jsut for box on brand new 2022 utility reefer all though it has almost every option execpt flat floor.. spread full stainless disk brake inflation ect . that thermoking unit cost about 5k more then a carrier 7300 plus it heavier and cost more to maintain and carrier cools quicker

Man, i could use some mean tweets and covfef right about now....we had prices stable from 2016 to 2020, then of course November came around.....dont tell me the nut in the white house doesn't have influence on what we're experiencing now....just my 2 cents....
jason6541 and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
What are the current wait times when trying to order a new trailer, reefer or dry van?
