I see trying to get city permits around the tidewater area is a real hassle!!!! Can anyone tell me will I need an escort going through Suffolk on 58?? Im only 9'9 but I THOUGHT I heard that any OD load going through Suffolk on 58 needed an escort. Im waiting on the city permit to be issued........

I would have to look at my blanket again to be certain, but I think 10 or less on divided highways you will not need a escort. Any 2 lane you will need one. And the City of Suffolk western limit is at the Blackwater River bridge on RT 58 near Franklin, VA

In Suffolk county unless they have changed something in the last year any OD load on 58 requires a city permit (72 hour lead time) and a pilot car. and yes for 5 miles and the sheriff is a little prick there
