Hi there, I've been driving for 2.5 years and I'm curious if there's any companies out there specializing in runs from Virginia (where I live) to Florida and back... Or VIrginia to California or Texas and back.

I'm really not sure if this is a thing. Maybe there are companies with dedicated lanes I can check out? I figure if its out there, this is the place to ask.

    I've got 2.5 years Class A experience... 1 year OTR and 1.5 years local/regional.

    Any help is appreciated!

I have seen Abilene in California. They're VA based. Call em up and see. Others will have more options than I will

Thanks. Yeah, I actually used to drive for them. They'd send me out there but I'm looking for something more dedicated.

It was ok. If you have a good DM and you hustle you can rack up the miles, but the money could be better. I would regularly do 3000+ miles per week and not break $1000. Also, I was not a huge fan of some of the people in the Richmond office.

That being said, from what I've heard I think it's better than the mega carriers. They have a good training program, and there are a lot of good folks there, too, especially in Wytheville. Also, all the equipment is top-notch and you will see the whole #### country, from Brooklyn to LA and everything in between.

Since I left they were purchased by a large carrier (England maybe), so things might be different now.

Ah ok Swift. Yeah not many companies will give a rookie a two year old volvo haha. I think I was at 31 or 32cpm. I'm hourly now and it would be hard to let that go, but I'm kinda getting the itch.

I understand totally. I did the local thing, but OTR is special. Something about a new adventure everyday. Are working LTL?

Freightworks out of NC has runs west out of your region. I think Danny Herman would be another candidate to run west if you're in their hiring zone. Don't know of anyone doing Va to Fl.

Many companies do their best to avoid Florida. In ten years of driving, I don't think I've been to Florida more than 10 or 15 times. I am certainly not complaining about that either
