I can understand that when thinking about the day-to-day restrictions that apply to everyone. But if you step back and think 'big picture', the benefit is the vaccine helps keep you out of the hospital and morgue, and with the hospital/ICU beds full of Covid patients (75% of which were unvaccinated), the snowball effect has been massive (thousands and thousands of cancelled procedures and surgeries, suspended organ transplant programs, etc).
Vaccine exempt

I don't know if it was the same in Canada, but that happened here in America. Why did it happen? Hospitals said no more elective surgeries. We're not talking cosmetic surgery here, we're talking things like heart stints. So when they decided that, they also laid of thousands of nurses in the process. This means even though ICU beds are sitting empty, they're still at max capacity, because there's nobody to staff them. Why is there nobody to staff them? Because they laid everyone off.
This wasn't because the hospitals were being overran with Covid patients. It was because they laid off all the help. Sure makes for a scary news headline though. Easy to spoon feed it to people as well, when you leave out all the context.ProfessionalNoticer, skipgears, kylefitzy and 3 others Thank this. -
Actually no it's not. Every other vaccine introduced the virus to your body. So your immune system would create the antibody to fight it off. Thus giving you immunity.
The current vaccines are only making the "hooks" have a harder time attaching. Which is exactly why it fades over time. As your immune system has not been bolstered. Where as with having caught and gone through the virus. You do generate the antibody and your protection does not fade.ProfessionalNoticer, skipgears, bark77 and 5 others Thank this. -
Nonsense! I have to get Polio and Smallpox boosters every four months.

If you think these vaccines are working, you need to give your head a shake.
Why didn't they say from the start "this will not stop covid, but will reduce the chance of hospitalization" ?
At first it was "80% and we will have herd immunity", then "You need a booster shot", then "It will reduce hospital strain".
None of this has been true, so when do you finally clue in and realize they are ############ you?ProfessionalNoticer and xlsdraw Thank this. -
In fairness. Due to their making long term projections on short term data. The "vaccines" do provide a higher level of help in the short term. But because they are not a traditional one. That helps your body create an Immunity. Their help reduces over time.
They just didn't have enough longer term data to show that and pushed the narrative of what the short term data showed.
People are arguing about this on the wrong points. It's not really a matter of how much benefit you get or don't get from it. It's a matter of should the government be mandating your health choices.
Think of it like vitamin C. It can assist your immune system but doesn't give you immunity to the flu. You have a choice to take it or not. The guberment doesn't tell you have to take it. But they encourage you to take daily vitamins for your health.skipgears, xlsdraw, SomeCanadian and 1 other person Thank this. -

With all the so called "experts" on both sides of the issue it's hard to know what to believe anymore. Personally with the "jab" I choose to believe my doctor and not all the crazy stuff making it's rounds on the internet.mpd240 Thanks this.
