    From what I've seen, not a lot of driving in that job. I wrenched for a year at an outfit with a couple hundred of those units. 15k-20k hours on some of the higher hour trucks and barely 200k km of drive distance.

    Yes more site work than Actual driving and most of the drivers put up in motels if working Away from home

    We contracted out a hydrovac company to dig holes in Queens where it's super rocky here. Upgrading the electrical system in the area and they make short work of digging. They can have a hole 7ft down in less than an hour whereas us digging by hand can be almost a full 8 hour day if not multiple days for one. They come out of upstate NY and the company has 12-13 trucks and a host of other equipment...so there is def money to be made.

    Super suckers have almost no chance of actually making contact with underground lines, so they are considered safer.
