Anything's possible lol. Chains don't make you invisible, they just help give you an extra bite that plain rubber won't give you. I won't chain again, multiple reasons... one would be I don't carry chains anymore.
To BigChevy;
Don't worry about the users here giving you a hard time. They're just here to pester you because they have nothing better to do. They probably think they are perfect in every way with never talking on the phone while driving, never texting, and I'm sure they've never went over the speed limit or drove drunk/buzzed.

Thanks green machine. I learn something new everyday.

Meh. Where I'm from, nothing would get done 4 months out of the year if everyone shut down at the first sight of a snowflake.
Wouldn't be too hard to jackknife with chains on only the drives (aggressive engine-braking going into curve). But you would need to do something pretty foolish to jackknife with a pair of drag chains on the trailer (in addition to chained drives).Dinomite Thanks this. -
ive thought about throwing on a set of drag chains just to see the difference but over here you don't need them, and a lot of the time im empty so I don't know if they would help any way, maby next time I go over ill give them a shot if the roads are that bad

What in the World is a drag chain, and I thought you had to chain up both drives and axle on the trailer in Colorado?
-
no you half to have chains on 4 drives and that's all, drag chains are chains on your trailer axle, I think the only places that require them are organ and Washington, I might be wrong thoe, ive only been to Washington twice and it was in the summer.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
CA, OR, & WA all call for drag chains when chains are required. Colorado does not.

Thanks Double Yellow. I guess I was getting my C's mixed up. My shop manage was testing me on the requirements to make sure I had enough.
Also I seen this morning some 4 wheelers on a frozen lake. Is that like the thing to do in Colorado? I don't think I ever seen that before. I get excited when I see the Ice fishers in MN. Not sure If I ever seen them with their cars on the lake though, but I probably did and it's just been awhile. Are there ever reports of the cars sinking in the lake? One of the cars was kinda far out and had its flashers on. Not sure what kind of trouble it was having. -
Probably an ice gymkhana
Dinomite Thanks this. -
yup theirs ice racing around here, ive never done it but its cool to see.
Dinomite Thanks this.
