I'm afraid they will put me in a diffent truck so I haven't called! I hate truck swapping. I did some googling though and it doesn't sound like a big deal. The sensor is between cylinders 1 and 2 and themes to get gummed up as you said with soot

i doubt if they would do that.. i had a couple of sensor questions for them when i first got in the truck and they answered them, I had the "High Exhaust Temp" message every now and then .... as long as the truck is running properly i doubt they make you swap out....
and i've had one of those Beardstown Specials, i had empty out over there at DOT Foods in Mt. Sterling and had to sit well over 10 Hours until my load was ready, then had to bust my ### to get to Edgerton, WI... but i did enjoy the local Pizza Hut down the street...... -
He's right, if it is only a sensor issue usually it takes less than an hour for the shop to pull it out, clean it and reinstall it. The only time we switch out of trucks is if there is something majorly wrong with it and it will be in the shop for days on end. As for the "high exhaust temp" code, that usually means that it is going through a rolling regen. You had to sit forever over at Beardstown? I find that hard to believe!!!!

Where do you guys park before you deliver in Norton?
-
when your going through that little industrial park there's a couple of side streets to park on thats pretty quite and no one bothers with you........ i havent been to norton since December even tho at one point i had ran 5 straight loads up there but as long as that haven't changed you can park on the side of the street...
The street i parked on was once you turned into the industrial park you go down about 3/4 of a mile and on the left you'll see a sign that says Myles Standish Industrial Park and has directions to different places and you can turn left, as soon as you turn left the first right you come to turn right and you can park anywhere along that street as long as your not blocking no entrance or fire hydrant... and to leave just follow that street to the end, make a right, go to the stop sign and make a left back onto the main strip of myles standish blvd... it sounds confusing but its not...
here's the map.. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=myles...ent=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl -
Thanks for the info hawk. I ended up going the long way around and stopping at my usual, Flynn's off of US-20 in Shrewsbury. A regional guy I chatted with said I made the right decision. I would have hit the Tappan Zee right at 5 and who knows what else but at the split a driver gave me counter advice to what I was told in Jersey. I used to deliver to Market Basket in Andover or Tewksbury, and my standard route was 287 to 684 to 84 to 90 to 495. Norton being on the south side of the loop 287 to 95 to 495 is the shortest way for sure, but with traffic in mind I went the WAY long way around, 287 to 87 to 84 to 90 to 495. But like I said a regional guy I was BSing with on 84 said I made a good move.
Anyway I was rambling. As predicted my motor problem was just a faulty exhaust gas pressure sensor. Was fixed quickly once they got it in. (Mondays) I would have had a hell of a time up here with 250 hp. Haha
I shouldn't have let them send me way up here. I have 7:20 left on my 70, only getting 8.25 back the next two nights, and I need to be home Friday night. -
Let's pray a short, direct backhaul is available and I can get the rest of the way down and up to Syracuse? Jersey City? Thursday?
-
Brian, glad to hear you got your engine fixed, you need all those ponies when climbing those #### hills. Spent yesterday in Rochester picking up a load of beer, took all day then delivered in Lancaster today. Waiting at Front Royal for a load tomorrow going to Norton then hopefully a back load or a long Deadhead

Be safe out there and enjoy the faux spring! -
Yeah no kidding! She did great! Unfortunately I'm in the shop again, but I'm soon out. I had a brake chamber check out on me in Harrisburg. I was on the phone, cruise on, and suddenly heard this sound like air leaking and was all, "uhhhhh?" Everything seemed normal otherwise til I pulled into the Flying J in Carlisle and the compressor wasn't keeping up. Haha. They got me a load from Millard in Allentown to Front Royal. What a pain that place was. I won't get into that story.
-
Tough times at Millard eh? I've heard horror stories from other guys about that place, but I've always had good luck going there. Either my trailer is already loaded when I get there or they back me right into a door. This whole week has been nothing but 10 hour breaks and log splits. Took 7 hours to load me in Osceola, everybody made it seem like they needed it in Gurnee, IL yesterday. Split my log and rolled in there around noon on Tuesday and sat there most of the night to get loaded. Then went to Bolingbrook and sat another 6 hours to get the junk mail onboard then another all night drive to Rochester, Mankato & Sioux Falls. It is all coming back to me now why I don't do regional short haul! All is not lost though, once my 10 is done I'm heading to the yard to pick up my new KW and then head for home! @bbechtel16 did they have it fixed there at Bosselmans or did you just go down to Eddy's?
