Looks like a pleasant surprise for my 2nd stop, considering its a supervalu place, got me in early, and started unloading me right away...i almost had to keep looking at the supervalu sign to keep from thinking iwas at hyvee lol, went to back into the door, and upon opening the trailer, i found a river of what looked like chocolate syrup laying in the floor gutters, plus the fact that mt. Crawford mix-loaded the pallets on instead of puttin them in the right order for the stops...grrrrrrrrr... i think if mt. Crawford did half as good a job as friendship did it would be an improvement...oh well, too late to worry about that now, gave denise a heads-up on that situation, so hopefully i'll be on my way to rapid city for an on time drop..

LIES I SAY!!! Super Valu you must have been dreaming......or off your meds...there is no such thing as early with super valu LOL.... -
LOL i hate to say it but its true, i decided to pop into the sv warehouse early since the way they had this stop scheduled, it left almost no time to unload, and i'd have to be out of this stop before the appointment time to make rapid city by 6 am, i'd already burned up a good chunk of my 14 sitting at the first drop waiting for dispatch to open up for that check, so taking my 10 on the way into the final drop is going to have to do. But yes, believe it or not the people here couldnt be nicer.....that or someone put something strange in that teriyaki chicken sandwich i ordered at the petro last night.....

Tried showing up to my reciever early....would have been ok except today is the day they have a guy come in between 7 and 8 that has to pick up some pallets...so I moved on down to a parking lot I seen on sattilite...right next to the Dakota Mill and Grain.....I suggest if you ever have to deliver to down town Rapid City to park here...there are restaraunts and stores to go to...so if you don't need a shower or have a craving for truckstop food...this parking spot is perfect cause you dont have to start your day just to get to a reciever thats downtown (johnson bros wholesalers...FYI its a blind side angle dock in a narrow alley)

So yesterday after delivering in Plympton, MA, I had a 2 pick up brokered load from Gloucester, MA, and Medfrord, MA...The first stop in Gloucester, MA (Americold Storage all fish products) was a hell hole, and the guy there was a complete jerk. Appt time was 12, however, I didn't get there until 12:30, and when I got there, they didn't even have a dock door available, and product wasn't ready. So needless to say they screwed up my hours, and I didn't get out of there until 4! The worst part about the first pick up was, it was only 4 pallets, and one of the pallets didn't have but a few boxes on it. Then I had to mosey on down to Medford, which wasn't a bad place, nice place I picked up from (Crystal Cold Storage with very nice people), they loaded in a matter of minutes being as it was only 1 pallet! Yes that means I have a total of 5 pallets on my trailer LOL. So since they screwed up my hours it ate into my 14, which kinda sucked being as there was nothing but traffic getting from Medford, then in CT there was NON-STOP Construction, which burned up more of my hours. Mind you I'm taking this load to State Farm, VA (scratch your heads, I did the same thing). Apparently it's Correctional Facility with a meat place behind it. Not sure how I feel about going to a correctional facility, however, I guess we'll see how that goes when I get there. I'm supposed to be there at 10am, HA! I will not be making that appt, and I've called the Broker and I've called Cory. I only made it to a service plaza here in NJ because I was falling asleep, and I am not in the market of killing myself lol. Even after my 8 hour break I only got back 4:45 DT, and apparently I need 4:50 DT to make it to State Farm, VA, from here. So I have to wait until 10 to leave just to get all of my hours back and get there about 4.5 or 5 hrs late. At least Cory was pretty understanding about the whole being late thing since I was so far up North and they held me up for so long.
On another note, this truck has to go into the shop! It will not perform a rolling Regen and even when I do a parked Regen the DPF light stays on. Goes off as I'm driving, but as soon as I stop comes right back on. Also the fault codes for the check engine light being on stays "DPF FUEL INJECTOR 1 NO RESPONSE". Lucky me. I told them I wanted a Volvo, and didn't want a KW, but oh well you get what they give you. Maybe they will consider taking me out of the KW's and putting me into something else. At this point I wouldn't mind going into a Freight Shaker....OK nothing will ever make me want a Freight Shaker! LOL Hope everyone else is having a great week. -
Unloading in Abingdon,VA does anyone know the difference in miles coming here if you go to Knoxville? Thinking I've done my last trip through the hills of KY. Fog this morning was a killer.
-
Finally getting nloaded at my reciever.....this place is ugly tight to get into...will posrlt pics on my break...
-
It wont over torque... these caps on these paccars are like that, it was the same deal on the Petes
-
And Kev let us know if you go across that special bridge at the state farm and also it sounds like your DPF might be cracked
-
