They want us at FCFS receivers as early as possible so they can get us on another load ASAP. They don't put if a place is FCFS on the load assignments because if there is time to do so some guys will lolly gag around and then be hosed for hours or not be able to pull a load that needs to leave that day. After a while you kinda figure out who's FCFS & who's by appointment which will let you know if there's any wiggle room for arrival. Really the only place that FCFS does not pertain to is Abingdon on a Tyson load. I've had it where Tyson tells us to be there @ 0300 even though the meat side does not open until 0600. The upside is you guaranteed some detention pay!

I love fcfs...cause if I can get in early MIT usually means get out early....I am sitting at the Mother ship waiting on getting an exhaust leak fixed....hopefully my turbo isn't shot...cause dispatch wants me to get out of here ASAP....

FYI there is another freightshaker getting processed in....

Well today went to #### thanks to SuperValu who can't count. Arrive for my 0730 appt, back into door for them to unload 10 pallets. Two hours later I inquire if there is a problem. They took one to many pallets off and starting breaking it down before they realized it wasn't theirs. They had to restack and shrink wrap. So after 3.5 hours total, I'm now going to be about 45 mins late for the last drop. This in turn burns up all my extra time to pick up my next load. So now I'll get it when they open at 0700 tomorrow. Oh and it gets better, consignee stops recieving at 1500 and they are 10.5 hours away. TRUCKIN', GOTTA LOVE IT...LOL!

I saw one of the new Freightshakers yesterday. Yikes. Even Van Wyk can't fix ugly. Could somebody let our Cascaidias at JB Intermodal know they're supposed to get 8 mpg? Ours struggle to hit 5.5. Granted our average haul is 18 miles... I'm tickled to be out of mine and into an old busted up Century that I don't have to share, with a 515 Hp vacuum cleaner, and 100 gallon tanks, that does as good or better on fuel than any of the new junk we have.

Sitting at my last stop in rapid city,sd. Was just thinking I probably paid out more in lumper fees on this load than I actually made :-( guess you gotta take bitter with the sweet. Have no idea what's next but sure it will be going east. Drive safely and have a good weekend everyone.
