made it to sheldon with minutes to spare...delivering to KT in the morning....would have went home...but the cars are gone...(mines in florida til next week) and I don't have anything in my place except a washer/dryer and a shower.....but it would have been nice to go home....oh well...soon enough I will be all the time....

Looks like we are gonna go with Volvo as the replacement truck...there are more coming in everyday...there are 2 more VN730s getting processed in right now... everytime I am here I see more and more Volvos......nice truck though....more room than the KWs so we will see....

 

So what I've heard there's only 50 Volvo's on order... we'll always have a mixture of rigs.... I wish they'll give the 386 with the paccar motor a try

 

Agree hawk I would like that also. Sitting at the petro in Wheeler Ridge,CA doing a reset,had to get out of LA area as it was close to 100 yesterday and today. Supposed to p/u a load of produce tomorrow going back to my guess Iowa.

 

As expected p/u in Salinas,CA on sat,delivers tues at hyvee in Chariton,IA at noon. Think someone is gonna have to come up with some layover money.

 

Delivering my first drop in jessup, then off to richmond, not sure what is gonna happen after that, took my 8 hour split last nite since a 10 hour wouldve left barely enough time to get here, even with getting loaded early, got another 2 hours sleeper here which will leave just enough on my 14, just hoping josh doesnt try to force me into gordonsville with no time left on the 14 hour clock.

 

Being help at jessup, but tried to call both sheldon and waynesboro, and got a message saying "all circuits are busy"...wtf??, starting to get worried about making my richmond drop if these lazy### at jessup dont get off their lazy duffs and count this stuff...

 

I'm with y Hawk about the 386. I've talked to a few JFI O/O's using that platform and they really like it. I'm tossing around the idea of just staying in this truck until it's ready for trade in. I know the service history, it's running strong and has not been a shop queen like some of ours out there. It's nice getting a new set of wheels every so often but I think knowing you have a good reliable truck is a better one. Ended up doing a 3 stop Schwan's load to VA for yesterday, well technically. I showed up to my second stop with 5 minutes to spare and the unloading crew was yet to arrive, and when they did finally show up they were one guy short. That ended up making me late to my last stop in Newport News so made the best of it. I was about 45 minutes late here and when I showed up the gate was closed & padlocked so I was like WTF! I finally got ahold of the dude and he said he'll be in in 2 hours, ok fine and dandy. Long story short it's 0830 local time and they're just starting on me. No skin off of my nose, detention money & a good nights sleep is fine by me!

 

They use Elogs and still operate illegal. How can they do that?
They have nice equipment but they will work you over your
