Picking up at waverly headed to manassas, hoping i get loaded soon enough so i can get there before my 14 comes up, it amazes me how a full 8 years after that stupid 14 hour rule took effect, shippers & recievers still cant seem to grasp that it helps to schedule enough time to get the stuff loaded once the driver gets to the shipper, and the brokers and dispatchers in the industry(im not slamming any particular company, this is industry wide)cant seem to figure out how to schedule around it by now.

Well I was wrong got unloaded this morning as scheduled. Decided to do my 34 at the pilot in Hesperia, didn't feel like sitting in crappy Ontario and paying for the privilege to boot. Hopefully will be loading Wednesday headed back to the Midwest. Sounds chilly out in Iowa bundle up boys and be safe.

Chilly is an understatement my friend. I awoke to 0 degrees and a -23 windchill this morning in Coralville. Not the worst I've seen this week though. I stopped at the J in Cokeville, WY on Friday for a coffee refill and it was -22 WITHOUT the windchill! Luckily it wasn't windy so it was bearable. On Saturday I did luck out and had a 40 mph tailwind so I only used 41 gallons of fuel in my 439 mile drive back to Lincoln. Rolled into the house about 0700 on Saturday and managed to squeeze in a 34 which is really odd to be home two weekends in a row but oh well. My wife went over to Iowa City this weekend for a girls weekend so it was just me and the dog for two days which was quite nice. I honestly think the only productive thing I did was go to HyVee to get some groceries.

At toms brook waiting for my edinburg to medina oh /baraboo, turns out they wont have it ready until 2200, with the delivery appt in medina for 0600 tomorrow.....they ought to change the name of the shipper to Never Ready, or teach whoever schedules that crap to learn to read a clock. Looks like a good time to load the ipod up with some more metal tunes lol

I think by the time i get done in baraboo my 11 hours will be shot, I'm hoping i can convince sheldon dispatch to get me something to pick up the morning after...i don't mind doing the all-night stuff once in a while, but a whole week of it gets old.
