About every 7-8 days, i live in the east so my main running area is between east and midwest. Originally i was going to try to run all over the west, but decided to keep doing the east -midwest thing since i get to be home for my restart. As for tim he's pretty much a no-bs straight shooter, he used to be a state DOT cop so he knows the regulatory stuff well. (And no i aint gettin paid extra to say that or to be a kiss-###, just my $.02.) So far they've been decent with me, just now and then some frustrations pop up, and i haven't put my full year in yet. I haven't had to sit between loads 98% of the time, sometimes the pickup/delivery times get crazy, but you'll run LEGAL here.

Yeah no doubt you will run legal...tim gets a little excited when someone gets caught or drives when they are not supposed too....I have been treated well here I get home every 7 to 8 days depending on my hours.... most issues get resolved in a hurrry cause they like happy drivers....like spyder said the appt times get a little wonky from time to time..but we usually dont sit on our thumbs waiting for the next dispatch...but you will rack up miles...I average just over 3k a week...but it doesnt matter with the percentage pay..

Spending the night in Greene River,UT looks like I'm going to have to stop at a Volvo dealership tomorrow my tractor is losing a gallon of coolant a day,I have looked and looked for a leak but can't find one so guess I'll let a professional take a look. Desperado I can assure you Tim is the guy that does the hiring here bur he's definitely not a recruiter. I promise you he's not gonna BS you and the company is not going to lie to you, this is a small company none of that mega carrier junk here.

Thanks for the info guys...I've never worked for percentage before but as long as the moneys there i'll try anything once, however the way a driver is treated is just as important as the paycheck. The company I'm currently with, in my opinion, isn't very driver friendly so moral around here is pretty low which makes for very long days. Sitting for 8-10 hours after a break 2-3 times a week is getting old, by the time we get dispatched your too tired to drive.

I worked for a big carrier once....and I don't even miss it...I like getting answers when I need them and getting stuff fixed without waiting for someone to find it a nickel cheaper somewhere else....and I like being home once a week.....percentage is good pay...although I will admit I have had a couple small ones but thats mostly due to big chunck taken out for deductions like child support (grumble) you'll make good money here...but you earn it cause we are expected to run hard but LEGAL..... it may take some getting use to I have come to expect a load plan coming within minutes after sending my empty call...if not I start calling cause my QC seems to like to lose signal from time to time...that and I like to get a general Idea of which way to go once I get done at a customer....

Care to make a bet that the EGR Cooler took a dump already? Hopefully it's just that and not a bad head gasket! Has the oil been a little foamy when you look at the dipstick?

Thankfully the problem turned out to be a loose hose that was back by the fuel tank, seems Volvo routed hoses all the way back that far to keep the fuel warm. Mechanic said was the first time he had seen that

You would tend to believe that the fuel coming from the return line being in the neighborhood of 170 degrees would accomplish that feat, but hey I'm no Swedish engineer. Good to hear it was no biggie.

    mushroom1464 Thanks this.
