I have an older truck, so i decided to hold off on getting an inverter.

Just getting unloaded here at warners, unfortunately i got the dreaded check engine light again, hoping hoping to get home right after this, but i have a feeling it'll be another afternoon wasted at the dealership.

This was the kind of day that made me want to jump off of a bridge. Picked up in Storm Lake and some how two of our trailers were assigned to this load. I gave them a puzzled look when they gave me a different number other than what was on my printout but whatever sometimes they change. I searched the lot high and low for 20 minutes then went back to tell them it was not on the lot to which I was told it's marked on the clipboard so it has to be out there. So I searched another 15 minutes with no luck so back to the office I go. As I walk in the guard said it was in fact on the number I had originally given them, somebody in their dispatch screwed up. Ran into heavy snow from I-35 in IA all the way to Madison, WI. To top it off 75% of the marker lights don't work and I'm guessing the reefer battery or alternator took a dump so I had to get out in the wind and snow to get the ##### up and running again. Luckily I only had to wait about 20 minutes for a door here which gave me enough to kinda pick up the truck, god it drives me nuts knowing that my bed isn't made!

Just had probably the most interesting trip on a load ever in the past 24 hours.. Had the Goodletsville, TN to Faribault, MN run.

Heading west on 24 outta Nashville, get word on 19 that's there an 4 mile backup due to an accident. So a couple of guys and I jump on 41W to scoot by, join back on 24 7 miles later no biggie... While heading west the wind was just a nasty SOB. I mean just whipping me around, I know there was an line of severe storms headed out the St. Louis area but thought they were fair ahead. Boy was I wrong. Got onto the Illinois side of 24, seriously thought I was in a rain-warped tornado. It was hell from the 10 MM on 24 to the 70 MM on 57... ######

Get to Hucks in Mt. Vernon, which If you ever need a place late at night to park, your guaranteed to have it in the back, and call it a night. Back at it Morning, get rolling west and the wind is still kicking ###, running in and out of rain showers and so on. Get to St. Louis, what do you know a light snow is falling, nothing major but it #### sure caught your attention. Then I'm running in and out of Bright Sunshine unto Dark Clouds, all they way thru Mizzou on 61 until I get to Mt. Pleasant, IA and boy that's were the fun began. Now need I remind you all I'm only loaded with 13 K, and boy I probably just would of been better off empty. Virtually skated all the way up 218/380 from Mt. Pleasant to Waterloo... Just a sheet of ice, I thought Iowa kept there roads in better condition than what they were. But i seriously don't know how many times my drives was sliding..

Things got better once I got about 20 miles Northwest of Waterloo but man, there was times I wanted to call it a night and say F-it... Kept hearing how much better it was north of Waterloo so I kept going but yes what a #### trip. Now getting unloaded in Faribault, A Windom to Prince George would be nice, or a load outta of or near Twin Cities headed back to Front Royal would be just as cool

I've been frustrated at josh lately, seems he has a problem listening to drivers when they call in, earlier in the week when i was stuck at halls, i called in and let em know that i was still waiting for a dock and would still be a while..the first thing josh asks is "are you empty yet?"....almost blew a gasket at him again.

After i delivered in warners, they sent me into cummins syracuse, they put the truck into a forced regen, and cleared the code. Then the guy behind the desk comes up and told me that the dpf injector would still need to be cleaned in the near future, so i went home, and called in, was told head empty alll the way into Harrisonburg kw. Got there, they say no one called, and i couldnt get a hold of cory because he skipped out early, i got doug on the line, now he insists he DID have them clean the injector! I went back and forth, then told dispatch my situtation(with gritted teeth...i was LIVID at doug), and got the ok to go into mt. Crawford to p/u.

yeah it felt like josh was blowing me off...like it was no big deal that this load was gonna mess up my whole week.....IDK maybe it was just me...I know trucking is trucking...and ya gotta take the good with the bad from time to time...I will be at the reciever tomorrow and its not supposed to deliver til monday.... debating on taking a 34 on the road and then working til friday...I guess I will see if I cant get this off on sunday night...that way I can be home by monday or tuesday then take the rest of the week off and go back out friday or saturday....I think I will try to keep west of indiana cause it seems I get screwed when I come out east...I do pretty good running around the midwest and the foot of the rockies...

Sitting at the Pilot in Minooka...yep I found a spot at 7pm...I was surprised to say the least...cause this place is always jam packed....I don't deliver till the wee hours monday morning...so it looks like the super bowl in the drivers lounge....oh well...still kinda proturbed at josh for basically leaving me hanging out to dry on this load...even if I could deliver it tomorrow I still wouldn't have the hours to make it home cause I only have 3 left on a 70......cause I had to basically use up any hours to get to norfolk then down the road....If I would have picked up a never ready load I could have made it home with a couple hours to spare...but hey it isnt his hometime...Im sure he gets to watch the game on sunday at home...
