Ya, I been around VW's a year and a half or so, I got a 1 year old KW when my first ride "expired". I think it had @488k at that point.

Anyone looking for a driving position, I'd have to say VW has so far been a great company, very decent pay, equipment, etc. Just remember nothing's perfect...this IS trucking.

This is probly one of the last what I consider "real" trucking companies. They don't tell you every little thing to do, such as when to fuel, how many gallons, when to start your day, etc. They don't continually look over your shoulder either. They let you pick your route, although they would prefer you don't do the entire PA turnpike, but they cover all tolls, etc. and as long as you're not continually way out of route they never say a word. You won't hear a lot of positive feed back from them, but if you're doing it right you likely won't be bothered either. Its run by some real down to earth fair minded people, that work pretty darn hard to keep you moving and making cash. No BS here.

True statements gents. Started with VW in 2010 and went through 1 Volvo and 3 Pete 386's.In 2011 got my first new truck a T660, what a truck, and by no means perrfect, especially on step grades, but she did well on rolling hills/flat ground. So in Feb. of this year left for family reasons and started pulling containers out of Virginia ports, what a wake up call. In short, if all goes well I'll be back by the end of April. While it was said earlier that "this is trucking", I will agree but none others match up, except O/OP's of course.

overall I am pretty happy here...you get left alone as long as you don't cause/make problems...you get your load and get down the road...no one tells you what, where, and when (other than appts)...they expect you to make good decisions....every now and then you have to tell dispatch No and be pretty adiment about it cause they can be pretty convincing......hell I turned down a load earlier in the week when I was in chicago cause i just couldn't make the shipper with the hours I had left and time of day (morning 8 am had one hour left and wanted me to go to burns harbor 40 miles away...yeah not gonna happen)...so they took me off the load and gave me(in my opinion) a better load......

right now I am on my way to the NW have to be in Seattle by 5 am tuesday.....probably be there monday night...I picked my load up 6 hours early from storm lake so I really have about 12 hours or more extra time if I really need it.....the load pays decent so I took it..yeah I could have said no and sat my butt at home on easter but what the hey I like to make money too.....gonna work myself a long weekend here one of these days so I can see my kiddos..but I will see how the cookie crumbles..

Well, yes. They expect us to make "the best, most profitable" decisions for all involved. There are times too, they have loads to cover, and they will want you to change plans... Maybe pull something that needs to go sooner than one that can be put off awhile, etc. I try to wrk with them as much as possible, but sometimes, like you say, they have to be told no, I can't do it, I don't have enough hours, or whatever is the case. Over all, if your out there doing your best to make good decisions, their going to work with you, and that's not to say that maybe won't suggest a better way at times...I've had a "blonde moment" or two along the way here and there.

But, like has been said, it's a trucking company. Things happen. They expect us to work hard, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Anyhow, hope you all have a nice Holiday, whether at home or out truckin'!

Mic your overall opinion of this company is great do they have good benifits, the lanes run up down east coast out to mid west and nor east correct. Percentage pay been good to you. Are they good about repairs. Argue with you about tread wear etc. how many miles do you average a week?
