@Mushroom, it is VERY important that you get the custms stamp on your bills for all drops north of the border, if we don't have it we could face a hefty fine. Ya, one of my buddy's that drives for us got popped in Shelbyville, IN last week for a seatbelt too. I wonder if they do the same thing for four wheelers?

Husker,
I read about some recalls that KW had on some drive line componets on '08'09'10 model years, seems it could be the supplier, maybe they used some old/new stock, anyway I guess your back on the road, hopefully you won't have that issue again. Regarding 4 wheelers, I doubt it.
Mushroom,
should be smooth sailing up there, weatherwise.
be safe, and enjoy the sun, when you see it -
I'm not really sure what the skinny is to tell you the truth. I did have a couple issues in the driveline on my last KW so PACCAR must not have completely corrected the problem. Luckily since I only have 23,000 miles on this beast so everything came apart pretty easy, I think Dean had 'er whipped in two hours. I got the "oh hey, looks like you need to take a 10 while they work on your truck then run all night". Ended up taking a load from Hospers with one stop in Chicago down in The Fulton Market then finaled out in a po dunk little town about 10 miles north of Elgin. Luckily one of my buddy's was heading into Fulton too so we ran together, good thing too cuz I was struggling that last hour into town. Be safe all & talk to you soon.

Oh my... Rob I feel your pain. I've been sucking wind all week. When I shut down at 0400 the other night, I diced around and didn't go to sleep til 0600, woke up at 1100, and couldn't get back to sleep, wasn't planning to drive til 1700 (all EDT) to not be too early for my "0030" CDT IN Goddard, got here after driving through the housing developments a bit thx to horrible directions, (it's like the 4th left after the TS not 1st!), and the guard informs me that my appt time is bogus, that they dont have any receiving at those hours, and that I'm actually not on the schedule at all! He tells me to come back at 0500 and maybe they will work me in. Meanwhile Swift pulls in behind me and jumps in my interaction with the guard, tells him the same and that we can come in to turn around. I proceed to do so, and when I'm making my U I'm wondering what happened to Swift. I get back to the road and see he is attempting to back onto the road to get in front of me to get to the TS. I wait for him to get out of my way, then when we get to the TS I have to wait for him again, on the street, while he drives through the grass and parks on the end on the grass and sidewalk! There isn't really any parking left, and I attempted a tight blindside and bailed, then put it beside the fuel island. Gotta love all the think-for-themselfers in the gravel lots that take up 1.75 spaces worth! Then I see the police are doing an inspection of a random truck shut down there! So watch out for that in Goddard! Sorry to hear about your BS ticket Hawk. I just called in for a continuation on the BS speeding ticket I got in Scott City last month. Kansas sucks! I called David this morning to fill him in. Someone here screwed up and it was supposed to be 1230 today, they are going to work me in, "but my appt wasn't til 1230" nvm that because of their screwup we were planning on 0030!
I wanna go to Canada...I think. I have a virgin passport at home! -
Brian,
I feel for you, regarding sucking wind, once you get in that routine, it's hard to get out. Ok where is Goddard? That situation sounds similar to a Supervalu in In. last year, someone at Mt. Crawford screwed up, the load I had was late before I even left! Needless to say, I had to hang around the pilot till the next day so they could "work me in". I've been on the northeast regional this week so I'm not saying anything, a 6am delivery at Halfmoon tomorrow then I'm heading back to Va. Good luck on the speeding ticket, btw, how fast were you going? -
Rob,
Hopefully things will seat up in your drive line and you can get her broke in right. Speaking of KW's, since the new guys are getting the "broken in" trucks, we shouldn't have to worry about that issue much. Take care. -
Got my 3 stops off,got to last stop at 1315 only to be told that appointment was not until 1600 sure wish I had that info anyway got back over to Buffalo did a drop and hook and headed to Gordonsville for 1615 tomorrow gonna have to keep the hammer down tomorrow but should make it,you guys be safe out there.

Good job and good luck mushroom! How's trucking in Canada?
Larry, Goddard is in my "favorite" state, Kansas. Dillard's Kroger grocery warehouse. I got nailed going 34 in a 20 on US-83 through "downtown" Scott City, KS at dawn on a Saturday morning. I'm here in Garden City waiting on Holcomb DDT, no doubt. You didn't think they'd get me out of here before the snow and 60 mph gusts did you? I'll be going through Scott City again tomorrow morning. I'm thinking if he has someone else pulled over, maybe I'll pull over in front to see if I can make nice with him about making my citation more manageable? -
BTW just yesterday I had 76 degrees in Missouri. And yes you read correctly, wintry mix flying on my way from Tyson to the Garden City Oasis!
Goodnight. -
Is everyone else busy playing in the snow? I had a grand old time on US-83 between Scott City and Selden this morning. 7 or so big trucks in the ditch, 25 mph, occasional whiteouts. 50+ mph head and cross winds were pretty hard on the fuel, made it to Elm Creek with a little less than 1/16, got 193 gallons in :-0
Doing a drop and hook in Ottawa tomorrow around 0930, getting a two stopper: US Beef in DC (yikes! I thought big trucks weren't allowed in DC?), then Fort Belvoir. Any advice on US Beef? My appt is 0600 Monday.
