I thought big truck trannys didn't have synchros? I've heard this before and it baffles me. Does that mean floating isn't so ok for them afterall?

Not sure, was told they are air powered? I'm an engine guy, not transmision so I couldn't tell you, I just know it's off.

Maybe the range selector and/or splitter is synchronized?

Well against Hawk's and my own advice, I'm on the 44-64-81 route. I wanted a change of scenery. I haven't regretted it thus far; hills have been manageable. I'm parked at the J here in Waddy, KY. Lucked out and got the best spot in the place at midnight!

    Brian,
How's that route going? Regarding my truck not sure, she is still at the shop in Weyers Cave? Talikng about "floating" well there are unwritten rules.

    Hawk,

    Did your clutch get fixed?

    Have a good day.

Regarding my truck, nothing until 100 today to go over what the problem was again? I guess another day off, since this one is shot in the ###, maybe something tomorrow?

    Hawk, good luck with that.

How is everyone coping with the stormy midwest?

Well I got the truck back yesterday, and they said they counldn't find anything wrong, so they changed the fluids to look for metal, etc. and nothing. Cory told me to keep an eye on it.

Ummmmm I may be wrong but our trannys are not synchronized hence why we have to double clutch. That's the bad thing about chasing a vibration, it can be coming from just about anywhere. I was talking to a guy the other night about this same thing. He said that he sunk about $5,000 into his truck trying to fix a shimmy up front and it turned out to be the bushing on his rear motor mount which cost about $45 to fix. Good luck! Oh come on Brian, everybody loves truckin' by the light of the moon!
