Doing ok after 3 months, too many #### brokered loads which equates to sitting around, otherwise not bad and not looking forward to winter it will be my first!:biggrin_25513:

Even though I am a rookie driver and know no differance in companies, etc. I am enjoying this job and and working for the company. I just need to figure out how to squeeze the hours. I drive my butt off and still find, at times that I makes it to my drop points with only minutes to spare. Hell, I had to get dispatch, to get a driver to come bail me out just this week, because I could only make it within 50 miles of the drop before Qualcomm started screaming "Violation, Violation".

With the fuel stops, trailer washouts, and... well hell.... I have to eat and use the head..., it makes it a tight schedule. However, I am learning real quick on what routes are better than others. I agree with "Mattaponi Guard" about the winter months, that are approaching quickly, not looking forward to driving in the snow:biggrin_25513:

You'll find that waiting around is the worse, for me anyway, but it comes with hauling food from what I've read. Yes I've been to "snailex" a pleasurable experience, better yet Lancaster Foods in Jessup Md. guaranteed to wait five hours whether on time or late! Regarding winter driving from what I've read and heard drive your comfort zone and ask any questions from vets, they know. If the load is late, it's late, better than being in the hospital or worse. Referdriver, what is your truck #? Good Luck, I'm heading to Indiana today.

How is it going at VanWyk? I'm considering giving them a call.

I have no complaints. We are all running hard so loads are not an issue. Give them a call. Good luck to ya. They try really hard to get us home after 5 to 6 days out.

Hey Referdriver how did you trip to Chicago go?? And as far as those ######## "Railex" goes.. yeah screw them.. I hate them chumps, especially the fat ####### that works behind the counter.. only reason why i halfway like that place is that its next to a busy railroad and i actually like watching freight trains go by...

And i've yet to deal with Lancaster foods but it beats coming out that #### Salt Plant in the Middle of New York going to Delaware... Boys trust me, as much as its a pain at time to work with our dispatchers we are fairly blessed.. it could be alot worse..trust me!!

It went well. Got the load there. A little late, but it got there. I have not hauled any lancaster loads yet. I did have a Salt load from NJ, Piscataway, NJ (to be exact) to Mt. Crawford. Not a bad load.

As for being blessed, I agree, I have talked to many other drivers from other companies...., So, let's just say "I am Happy were I am!":biggrin_25514:

Hey..., I heard a rumor that there are 14 open trucks in Sheldon..., That is all I heard...., is the company buying new trucks? I also heard we are going to all KW's (T-700's)..., anyone heard if that is true??:biggrin_2556:

    Ya'll be safe out there.

Got back this morning after delivering a load to Supervalu in Mechanicsville from Dakota City, what a drive, so I'm off till Wednesday. Refer sorry to hear about your windshield how did that happen? I drive 627 and this morning befor leaving the yard I did a write up, no bunk heater, Qualcomm isn't working right, and I developed a water leak over this past week! Well regarding your comments about how bad other's have your right, this was the first time in 3 months that I've been out for 7 days. So where did you hear about the T700's, I know their getting rid of the Pete's as they reach 500000, and the older Volvo's, makes sense to have the fleet all one make.
