Thanks all!
Not too worried about the train horn. I hear that at home!
I always like to try to save hours (especially that buggered 14) but in this case it's kind of important. I deliver Sunday AM, then turn and burn to Harrisonburg to pick up so I can be at the 1st drop of three in Chicago on Monday evening. The other 2 are on Monday morning.
Nothing worse for me than watching my 14 burn when I know that it's effecting on-time delivery a day and a half and 800 miles away.

Hey Saienga, by chance did you pick up a Cargil load out of the yard on Monday night going to Hopkins? Vogel called me mid trip telling me to drop it at the yard since one of our guys from up in the cities needed to get home, I was kind of curious if it was you. Not a good week on my end at all, basically played a glorified shag driver. Yet I still managed to pull off 876 deadhead miles this week! I really try to stay positive and not chew anyones head off even when they deserve it, but I was not a happy camper when I talked to the office all week. I have a short week next week since we close on our new house Friday morning, nothing like using vacation days to work like a slave moving! Have a good weekend & safe travels.

well husker, could been worse, sat at home from saturday to thrusday due to my quote temporary truck unquote being in the shop... only got a $500 dollar trip in for the week, i get to get a short day at home tomorrow night to go out to the midwest for monday morning...
-
change that, Nebraska City, NE monday morning, no quick trip home for me...
-
That was me, and I thank you for it. I wound up running for 9 days instead of 6 like usual, and I was almost out of my 70 and the truck needed service and and and and...
However, you're happy that you didn't finish the trip to Hopkins. I got there at 0530, they only got me in a door finally at 0700 (0600 appt) and it took them the next 5.5 hours to get me unloaded. The reason? They didn't have any space. Like, the floor and the racks were full. So I had to sit on my hands, 40 miles from the house, while they used my trailer for storage because they didn't have their #### together.
Oh, and they didn't give me a lumper receipt for the $215 unload...which I didn't notice until I got home.
I got home, though, thanks to you. -
And that's why the guys who are regulars up there affectionatly call it StupidValu!
-
They've given me the poopy end of the stick at three different companies, now. But this particular one was the poopiest stick I've had to grab yet.
So it wasn't unexpected...it was just disappointing.
And, for some reason, if they're just being slow and stupid, or if there's a count & condition issue or whatever...that's fine. It was the "There's no space for the product" that gigged me.
Currently sitting at Jetro on South Packers in Chicago. Never been here before, but these characters look like they'll be going on the list. -
so the crisis has finally been solved!!!!! she's all mines, 107 miles on it..... finally finally finally!!!! quick question tho for husker and brian, when you guys first got your trucks you didnt get a smell of something for a while did you?? like a clutch burning or something??? it runs good just kinda of weak on the pulling power but with the DEF i can understand...43K going across 70 i've caught hell!!!
One more thing, that Regen Switch should be in the Center Position and No on Stop Right?? -
Yes, leave the regen switch in the middle. That's the one that does the passive regens.
With the wimpiness: have you ever broken in a new-new truck? It usually takes 30,000 miles or so to break in the engine and get peak power out of it. But also, the newer KWs have those big rear-ends, and so lose a little more oompf in the hills.
As for the smell...couldn't help you. -
Hawk,
congrats on the new ride, that smell is probably the newness
