Here's a few trucking companies to look at that hire new cdl grads in Las Vegas. Not all hire new grads all the time, but have on a case by case basis. You can start researching now; it's not too early. Some may even offer you a job contingent on completing the school and having any required endorsements. I think they all have a terminal in Las Vegas.

Safety-Kleen is seeking a Regional Class A Driver to perform daily routes. You will be responsible for transporting anti-freeze (between Safety-Kleen sites and other facilities. You will be working within the parameters of a structured schedule and maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Physical Demands:
Typical 14 hour shift to include light computer usage. To perform the duties of this job employee must have the ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, crawl, kneel, reach, squat, stoop and twist. Must also have the ability to carry, lift, pull, and push 0-100+ lbs., with repetitive movement of both hands. Employee must also drive a vehicle and move equipment.

Pacific requires new hires to sign a contract. Not saying they suck, I have no direct experience, but holding your employees hostage isn't a good look.

 

I'm pretty hard headed, so if the company looks good, I'd gamble and sign a contract for 12 mos. or less.
That's just me though.

 

Get yourself through a school. If you can back and drive a truck or catch on rather quickly a school in Phoenix Az will test you out for $1500 for 5 days of class.

After that the sky’s the limit. I’d recommend over the road with DHT
