I work for Veltri Trucking out of New Jersey. They are suppose to pay drivers by the hour per Postal Contract but they refuse and pay trip pay. I recently spent 5 hour behind a accident because of weather and they refuse to pay me for the time I worked. They keep saying only trip pay which is BS.
Can anyone give me a contact with the Department of Labor. They have been screwing drivers for many years I found out and they need to pay!!!!!!!!!
Veltri a theif!!!!!

Have you tried to Google "NJ Department of Labor", then look under Wage and Hour?
snowlauncher and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Yes and I can't get a call back. Seems like no one cares this guy is screwing us!!!!!!
-
This guy is getting rich by not paying the drivers per hour!!!!!! I was told its in the millions of dollars. Post Office don't care heard he has paid them all off to keep quit!!!!!!!
-
To add insult to injury he makes us take our Health and Welfare money for his insurance that is worthless. I heard he is getting a huge kickback from that. Know one does anything to this crook!!!!!!

You can file a claim. If you have a copy of your contract showing the method of payment and your pay statements showing how you are paid then you should include them.

Slow down for a sec... take a breath, don't get so heated up because it won't do you any good. Another poster asked you did you look at your contract to see if it was load pay or hourly. If its load pay start to look for another job if that's not for you. Looks like you have plenty of experience so finding something in the area would work for you. Try System freight in Newark I think they may be hiring.
I can tell you this they are definitely not going to pay you for the 5 hours sitting in traffic. I have seen this before.
Personally I would rather have load pay as long as the numbers work. Traffic is always going to be a concern but in the long run load pay always worked better for me.
Good luck to you...RookieJ1987 Thanks this. -
It is by the hour and he must pay for setting in Traffic. I have confirmed this on line. Contract is governed on SCA laws!!!! I like my route just want the man to pay what he is suppose to or Post Office get another contractor. He pays trip pay which in my case is 8 hours for 10 hours work. He is getting rich by doing this when wages $25 per hour!!!!
