Week 2: Monday - Delivered 4-holer to Whitmore Lake, MI. It was a pump off, the consignee provided a helper who knew exactly what he was doing. Its nice when they are help and not a hindrance.
Venezia provides you with hoses that stay with the truck. A short jumper hose with a standard 20' hose is perfect for a center unloader, and in this case a compartment trailer. The internal valves for all the Venezia trailers I have seen are cable actuated. Something different from what I am used to. No need to worry about hand pumps that don't work, freezing in the winter, or not holding pressure.
Deadheaded to Neville Island (Pittsburgh, PA) Xpress Wash. Dropped the trailer and picked up clean mt and headed to Swedesboro, NJ yard. Picked up a loaded trailer at Swedesboro that delivered to McKees Rocks, PA. Dropped the mt at Xpress Wash and went home for a long 4th of July weekend.
Not much money, but I had plans for the weekend.
Monday, July 8 I load at Bradford, PA for delivery to the friendly little hamlet of Hamlet, NC.
Ya'll be cool yeah. -
Are you doing any motor oil out of paulsboro ? Last time I was there it looked like a venezia convention .....
That was a while ago........... And motor oil was easy but didn't pay enough for me.... -
Gear, do you know if they have female drivers?

Good thread, keep it up. Im subscribing. I'm very interested in venezia for a place to settle into after my training period. I live a few miles from the swedesboro yard. Tom hassle is always in paulsboro. You are right about that. They have some nice trucks.
Is your home terminal swedesboro? How much experience do they want you to have? Keep posting on your experiences with them. and if you don't mind, once you get rolling for a bit it would be nice to know how much your weekly pay is or at least a good guess on what you think your yearly gross will be. Thanks -
Yep venezia and tommy hassell are exxon mobils main carriers out of paulsboro.glen dale wva must be loading out of warren distribution I use to work there in 2010 good bunch of people shame it didn't pay more to start or I'd still be there as far as dash cams they must of just put them in not long ago and I wouldn't believe it when they say they don't watch you when I was an o/o there in 2000-2003 they put qualcomm in my truck said it was just to dispatch loads and not to track you bs I ended up putting a toggle switch in to shut off the gps then I started getting calls asking me where I was at lol.venezia isn't a bad company benefits are real good I hated the pc miler though use to drive a 100 miles more then what I got paid the dash cam is a deal breaker for me. Tommy hassell is the better choice drive nice petes and paid by the hour their drivers make 70, 000-80, 000 a year but you could do a lot worse then venezia not a bad company good luck to you btw their propane division is where the moneys at if you can get in on that.

Left Sunday. Bobtailed to Neville Island to pick up a clean trailer and then headed to the Bradford, PA. Loaded at 7am and was out of there by 830. A brake air line had a leak that i couldn't stop. Spent 3-hours or so at Sapps Bros in Clearfield waiting to get it fixed. Spent the night at a VA Rest Area along I81. Got to Hamlet, NC on Tuesday and off loaded at the CSX yard.
From Hamlet, NC I was deadheaded to the Bridgeport, NJ Qualwash to drop the trailer. I picked up a clean trailer at Swedesboro and went to Paulsboro for a load of motor oil. The product went to Buffalo, WV. Delivery wasn't until 1900 Thursday.
From there I was going back to Neville Island. I ran out of hours at a Rest Area on I79 near Gassaway, WV. Friday was a cluster. Dropped the dirty trailer at Neville and picked up a clean trailer. Went to Newell, WV to load. I had no idea where to go or what to do when I got there. After 4-hours I was loaded and heading back to Neville to drop the loaded trailer.
Once I was back at Neville I picked up a clean trailer. This loads in Bradford, PA on Sunday and delivers in Gaffney, SC Monday morning. -
Great thread and very informative on what you are doing and how Venezia is treating you. As for the cameras, though, I don't care if they have 15 cameras OUTSIDE the truck, that one inside shooting the driver would be a deal breaker for me. The day every company has one, or they are mandated by the FMCSA, is the day I start my new career as a WalMart greeter...
realsupatrucka and poppapump1332 Thank this.
