The longer I am with them (geez 3-weeks) the more a problem the peeping camera is becoming. During orientation safety tells you it only records you during an accident, the rest of the time it is just a video loop (keeps recording over itself). NOw I am finding out that many events trigger it to save the recording - and this can be something as minor as a bump on the highway.
Furthermore, I found out that every time you are at Limerick some voyeur from safety pops the card and reviews the recordings. The driver is then called in and told everything he is doing wrong. Frankly, it is frustrating that they can find the money to spend on such driver unfriendly "safety" equipment - BUT Venezia cannot keep its equipment in good repair. To date, I have gotten exactly one trailer that didn't have "issues" and believe me they aren't minor issues. Au contraire, most would result in an OOS. Additionally, the same monitoring that triggers the perve cam could be used to trigger critical events (hard braking, side G's, etc.) that are buzzed through the qualcomm. We all know too much hard braking is a sure fire indicator of lousy following distance.
Yes the bloom is rapidly falling off the rose.
None of the driver unfriendly policies are revealed until they get you to orientation. Another good reason for driving one's own vehicle to orientations.
The home time promise isn't working out so great either!
I got a standing offer from another carrier that I may call in if they home time situation doesn't improve. If I quit in less than 90-days they will deduct my $300 orientation pay and TWIC card from my last pay check.
In the meantime I will flip the bird whenever the bell for PerveCam goes off.
Off to work. My weekend started at 2200 Friday and should have been over at 0600 Sunday AM!
And people wonder there is +100% turnover lol.

Aww man!!! You are crushing my dreams!! But it's ok, I have other dreams. And I would rather you crush them now instead of getting them crushed by a company later. I guess I'll go back to the riggins, s. Carroluzzo, lee transport dream. Until someone crushes them!! Lol

Take some pictures of the trailer problems and e-mail them to this safety jerk off . And ask him nicely wtf . Document everything ...........
I don't think to much of V...... As a company , Best of luck tho. -
On the flip side, space shuttle pilots had their every move moniitored. Should us lowly truckers expect anything less? lol

I was going to go back until I found out about the dash cam which they did not tell me about found out from a couple of buddies that work there and when I was leased to them I was home every weekend but that's changed and I see problems with trailers hasn't changed shame cause I loved pulling out of mobil in paulsboro plus I live 5 minutes from their main terminal.

Thanks for the info....I thought about the big V as well....but I hate dealing with trailers that aren't up to snuff. I drag a stainless for Liquid Cargo...the trailers are older, but LQCG is really good about keeping them tip top. We actually need a local driver right now. I have no compaints with them...am an indy operator running for an o/o....its a good racket. LQCG has treated me well...very well.

Problem with the trailers is drivers drop them off at the tank wash and never write anything up then the next guy gets stuck with the problem venezia maintenence isn't bad seen a lot worse not a bad company I have a half dozen buddies working there in all three divisions all seem to be happy I'm just not down with the dash cam that's a deal breaker for me.

Is Frank Venezia still in Liquid tank. I had some issues with my DM cheating me on the detention time and Frank would straighten them out for me. I always started the conversation off by asking about the Phils or the birds though. It has been my sorry experience that of if it is a trucking company they will try their hardest to cheat a driver. Even though Venezia would cheat me if I allowed them they were pretty good about straightening out my pay. I would still be there if I didn't move back to Georgia
