When drivers go to work for a company, they always look only at cents per miles. I have learned that working for a company, you need to look at the whole package.
And part of that package is a Good Shop! A crappy shop will drive you crazy, and cost you hundreds of dollars a month.
Having said all that, I had a similar problems as yours, and all they did was replace a cross over valve.
Personally, I wouldn't waste my time on government agencies to come to my rescue. I would just start applying at other companies.
Venting......

Is RVS a 1099 or W2 type of company?
-

The name on my settlements is RVS trucking. It is also the name on the trailer.windsmith Thanks this. -
I understand that, and it is why I don't want to file a complaint, but in the event I have to stick it out until I have a firm offer in hand with a start date, it's about covering my own ###...rocknroll81 Thanks this.

Lol, only 1 driver?

If you search by name and not DOT number, there will be 4 different forms of the name, 2 from Sacramento, 1 from Antelope (generally consideed a nearby Sacramento suburb), and 1 from Reno, all of which I have seen on paperwork for trucks/trailers I have been assigned.
WTF? -
Dude, this company is SUPER shady! If you are forced dispatch (in other words, they tell YOU where to go, when, and what your load is) then you are an EMPLOYEE, NOT a 1099 contractor. I would also contact the IRS, as they are screwing you (and the gov't.) on taxes, social security, etc.
I wouldn't count on any "help" from the gov't. agencies, only because you shouldn't be around that long. Find something else as quick as you can, but don't just jump at the first job you find- that may be going from the frying pan into the fire. But keep up with the FMCSA, OSHA, and IRS in the meantime to cover your six, and to keep these scumbags from doing this to anyone else!
Good luck driver, and hang in there. It will get better! -
And the plot thickens... I have the truck at another shop now who indicated to me that not only is the only leak coming from the overflow at the fill point, but the first dealer either misdiagnosed and fixed part of the problem, or the wrong problem. He completely contradicted the "miracle" leak diagnosed at the second dealer from an elusive hole in the tank and it does not need to be replaced.
I gotta admit I am relieved that an independent 3rd party has confirmed my suspicions and that while I didn't cause the problem, I couldn't have predicted it or even prevented it.
