I spoke with her briefly and told her she cut me off, but I needed to get my people notified and on the phone quickly. She did seem a little out of it beyond a weak attempt to say she was okay. By that time, police were on scene as a worker in one of the businesses(a glass shop) had heard the collision and called. The one actual eyewitness left before I could speak with him.

I personally like the idea of having drivers SHOW THEIR PAPERS(license/insurance/registration) when DUI checkpoints are in place so it serves both purposes.

If you are not an owner operator, you turn this all over to your safety department. Insurance is the owner of the vehicles responsibility not the drivers. People are pointing out that your safety committee will determine if the accident was preventable. Because she was taken for medical care the accident is DOT re-portable. The safety committee will therefore be looking to rule it as non preventable which it most likely was. I say most likely because we were not there. Someone turning in front of you might have give off a clue that you should have picked up. Some safety committees believe in the Super Trucker theory. I don't.
I believe everyone should have a dashcam and it should be cheap enough that stomping on it if there is something you don't want seen is affordable.
Good luck but I believe you are safe.bottomdumpin, Mtn Gal and Canned Spam Thank this. -
