Is there alot of dedicated runs? I live close to Charlotte, NC. And, how is their health insurance?
what r the trucks governed at? Are they 10 speeds? Horsepower? What is the cost to bring your pet along? Do they use elogs? Sorry, for all the questions. I'm thinking about applying at Venture.

Venture has a lot of runs in the Carolina's....Health Insurance isn't the best. Trucks are being turned down to 62...pet policy $300 deposit ...yes they use elogs..hope that helps..
Hawkeye1027 Thanks this. -
I've decided to stay where I'm at for just a little while longer. But, I will eventually leave to another trucking company. You are right, Slowpoke, the health insurance ain't all that great, and the hometime is not that reassuring.
-
I agree the health insurance isn't great. But I will say that in 2012 when the premiums went up Venture did not pass the increase on to the drivers or other staff they just absorbed the increase,
I've been dedicated for over 18 months now and get home everyday but when I did run OTR and regional I was home every weekend and usually a day or 2 during the week. -
Any info on their lanes out of Laredo? Sounds like they keep drivers close to certain lanes instead of anywhere/anytime OTR. Laredo to the midwest is a good lane for me. Get's me a driveby the house every trip.
-
Majority of the Laredo runs I know about go to Lafayette, IN. They do have a terminal in Laredo so I'm sure there's freight moving to other places as well.
From what I can tell they do run mostly dedicated accounts. Even on runs I had that didnt get me home daily I was still thru the house at least 1 night a week. Only time I wasn't is when I ran OTR and that's like that everywhere.
They won't send drivers to far out if you don't want to. Most the big runs are ran as teams. But they will not force you to team. -
whats ur truck number colorato

Well, I think a made a big mistake. I got a job with Interstate Diet. Co. out of Lebanon, TN. Biggest reason I came here was because I got health insurance day 1, and pay starts at 38 cents a mile. Ive been stuck here in PA for nearly a day and a half waiting for them to find me a load home. Not too happy right now.
-
Anymore it's a battle to the bottom amongst most these companies.
Did you leave just because of the insurance or was there other issues like low miles. That's the biggest thing I hear from others is low miles. I know it can be hard but that's why I always tell people it isn't bad here IF your on a dedicated run. Otherwise your just covering for the ones that call off and brokered left overs.
Good luck. -
I've got a friend who is inquiring about the Cullman, Al to Portland, Tn or Clarksville run. Anyone have any info that I can relay to him?
