Buy extra ink for that printer, including color. Newer printers require all ink tanks to have ink, even if you're only printing black. I've used VZW since my ATT phone got cloned in 2003. I've been using VZW for data and permits and such since then as well. You late data adopters don't know how good you have it! Switching the tethered phone to fax mode and having winfax receive it before the other side hung up could be very frustrating. Now with myfax you get an email alert and can print from your phone.

VZW would always get me in trouble years ago. We had them linked off of my bosses account for work. I somehow got stuck putting the deals together & the bills would always show up for way more than the plan price. But the deal breaker was Verizon & US Cellular had an issue with not working together. So right in the middle of the area we were trying to service you could not get signal with VZW. This was back well over 10 years ago. Switched to Cingular that turned into AT&T later w/o issue.
Although that is just one locale...

Regardless, the majority of those who travel in the U.S. I think have switched over to Verizon. Was waiting for the Galaxy S3 to officially roll out & may have to wait a bit longer to see VZW's. Pretty sure that everything other than the air card is out of contract with AT&T.

You are correct about ink, found the settings and put them on black normal print only and have the extra inks also. Have data cables and wifi also but will carry it all just to CYA, tested it and it runs and receives faster than anything.

My boss offered to have a phone placed on his account and that is why I said thanks but no thanks, it was a very gracious offer but having the phone in someone else name bothered me.

Probably a good thing, looks like it will cost MORE money as they are getting you on the data & access charges. When I saw unlimited voice/messaging for cheap, it looked to good to be true. Kind of thinking it is. But the way they have it separated out, each person will have to look at how it fits what they currently use.

A strange thing about prepaid or burner phones, the text works when the voice or internet does not and voice worked part of the time. The data packages on contract phones from my understanding works on another system so I was told. No wonder they are jacking the prices, more revenue.

My contract has 8 gigs of data for 50.00 per month, wonder what they will charge for it with the new plan?

Looks like alot. On my account I have 2 iphones with unlimited data, and a 5gig tablet plan, with free hotspot. I'll check it out, but I don't like the idea of giving up unlimited data. I already did on one of my lineswhen I went from an aircard to the tablet.

BTW, you aren't locked into anything. You can change your plan at any time with Verizon, you just can't cancel it without a fee.

    aiwiron Thanks this.

I read the link again and believe you are correct in they are going to increase it a good deal.

I had ATT for 20+ years when they still had bag phones, started out with Cingular, Cellular one then when they merged everything to ATT it all went to the dogs. When that happened I waited for my contract to end and said goodbye.

After reading the fine print you are also correct that I am not locked into anything really but would pay for a stop service only. Also if I wish to decrease my data plan usage I can decrease the package with no penalties, for now I will try the 8 gigs and evaluate it after 60 days and see what works.

The best part is after reviewing my notes from the last 4 weeks on the road this will eliminate 35 hours of waiting for permits or documents sent to me and not including the starting and stopping in a truck stop for papers, once they hit my email all I have to do is hit print on the phone and it will send it to the printer in the truck, all wireless system.
