I've been on Verizon since about 2012 and have always been able to talk and surf, the the only time I've had a problem was while in a 3g covered area.

Thats strange. Wonder if its the type of contract you have or maybe an issue with your phone? I can talk, text and hotspot all at the same time.
I can watch Netflix on my laptop and take a phone call or make calls at the same time. No issues.
Hurstspyder7723 Thanks this. -
Not even close. ATT has the second largest coverage area. Verizon is the largest by a very large margin.
Sprint and Tmobile combined together still dont have the coverage area that Verizon has.
This is an unbiased map of current users. Cant fake this.

Verizon will give you %15 off if your a veteran. Just have to bring them your DD214, it takes a few billing cycles for them to verify it and start the discount though.

In the old days. If you had 4g. You could talk and surf. att I think had the first capability with 3g. On an iphone.
My note2 would talk and surf as long as the signal was 4g. I had both v and s carriers.
The last Verizon phone I bought had to have hd voice activated to talk and surf. It's signal also sucked worse then my note2 till it was activated.
As for those maps. There's a lot of red I know Verizon works and a lot of green I know Verizon don't work.Last edited: Feb 17, 2017

My s3 galaxy would talk and use data at same time. My s5 note will not. But this is with sprint. I've been with spriny since 98 and haven't ever switched simply due to the fact my plan was grandfathered in when all the carriers stopped the unlimited data thing. True unlimited with no throttling. Now that Verizon is bringing it back (and coupled with the fact sprint won't let my phone do both at once) switching could make sense.

For some reason. The s5 didn't come with that capability. I don't remember why.
I think that was the phone I was reading about couple years back. -
There is a Samsung Galaxy Note 5
And a Samsung Galaxy S5
But not a S5 Note.
I have the Note 5 and mine will do both at same time.
