I've only had two smartphones my current lg3 and the first one was a Motorola droid the most basic one they offered at the time I kept it til it stopped working both phones talked and surfed as long as. I'm in 4g I remember calling att at the time a bunch of liars for advertising as the 0nly carrier you could surf and talk.
I was on the same plan with Sprint that your on now. I was originally on Nextel when Sprint bought them out. In all honestly,.. and this is coming from a guy on Verizon and loves it. But not too happy with how they bill and charge for many things. Here is how I would go about choosing to switch to Verizon or not. And I will do my utmost to help with any questions that I can answer for you. First,.. think about where you operate. If you are mainly close to most interstates and major cities most of the time,.. then I would just stay with Sprint. Your probably not going to get better service with Verizon than you are seeing now with Sprint. Now if you see a lot of rural and out of the way places,.. then yes,.. absolutely,.. you will see better service with Verizon. The next step is price. How much (If anything) will you save with Verizon,.. or what is better service worth to you if you have to pay more to be with Verizon. Here is my bill for a single line. This is for the unlimited plan,.. the only addition to this plan is that I pay $2.99 extra for 25gb of cloud service to back up my phone and $11 month for insurance. The rest is exactly what you would get and see with the unlimited plan. I had to break it up into 3 screen shots to show you everything. This is exactly what I pay,.. $98 month. Not hiding anything from you here. Subtract $14 and thats what your out the door monthly price for Verizon unlimited should be. The blacked out info was where my name and phone number was. Hurst
Re-read my post. Their exclusive ended back in 2010. Lets not forget that most any phone can talk and surf when in a WiFI network and that might be confusing some people as well. Ed
Tmobile Verizon What good is all that data if I dont have service? If your just a company driver and you never leave the interstate states,.. good for you. I need more from my wireless carrier than what Tmobile can provide. Verizon hands down,.. you get what you pay for. Hurst
Verizon and Sprint both use pretty much the same type of network and frequencies. My wife has the Note5 and I (Had) the Note4,.. now Temporarily using the LG V10. Both of our phones will talk and hotspot at the same time. So its not a CDMA vs GSM thing. Even when not on LTE,. as long as its not 2g or 3g,.. voice and hotspot will function simultaneously. Hurst
I know that was directed at me. There is a reply button you should use to quote the person you are directing a msg to. That way there is no confusion as to who you are responding to. My question to you is,.. if you are not here as a verizon hater,.. why are you even posting here? Stick with your Sprint posts. I think you are mentally incompetent if you honestly think anyone will believe your mental map of where Sprint and Verizon service are and are not will carry more weight and integrity than an unbiased service that uses actual user data to calculate where the service maps are drawn. Trolling is frowned on. You should know better. Hurst
Since many years I have Verizon and still have it, but unfortunately when I moved to Las Vegas New Mexico, there's exactly a small gap in reception where the house is located, no chance to get a signal with Verizon. Got the new T-Mobile unlimited and it works perfect there. Since September last year I'm using both now, there are many gaps with T-Mobile where you can't get data or can make a call. In some areas T-Mobile works pretty good where Verizon has no signal. I'm using mainly T-Mobile for data and only use Verizon where I can't get a signal. We have one shipper in Illinois, where most phones don't work, T-Mobile has a good signal there. I wouldn't rely on T-Mobile only but don't need two unlimited plans.
And that makes sense to me. No one single carrier has it all. Its a shame you cant get Verizon at your home location. I had this issue with several other carriers.. and funny thing is that Verizon is the only one that works at my house. So when we did switch,.. you can imagine how happily surprised I was to finally be able to get rid of the Land Line. Hurst
@Hurst hey thanks for that post. Knew i could count on you to give a straight up answer. My only question left is about the phone usage and data at same time. Sounds like you hot spot to your laptop. I don't do that, but what i need is the ability look at loads with my phones browser on our load board while on the phone/calling agents. Can you use your phones voice calling and web browser at same time? The hot spotting is great and all, but I'm not always gonna want or be able to take the time to laptop out and booted up. Perfect example of this is maybe I'm in the middle of chaining a load down/folding my tarps up/whatever and an agent calls about a load picking up going to xyz with a solid rate, i need to quickly look at loads coming out of xyz before committing.
Yep,..I do the same. And I understand how critical this is. If this is a phone exclusive issue,.. here are the last phones that I have had and know for a fact that you can use Voice and data at the same time with Verizon. Example,. I'll have the blutooth in my ear,.. on the phone with a broker,..or who ever,. I can open a web browser,.. text, send/receive pictures, google maps, anything,.. and still carry a phone conversation. Can also have hotspot on and do the same with laptop. Samsung Galaxy S4 Samsung Note 3 Samsung Note 4 Samsung Note 5 LG V10 You 'Should' be able to do the same with the latest Iphones,.. I would ask around first. I have never used any Apple products. The Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 and S7 'Should' also be capable,.. again,. I have not personally used them,.. so please ask first. Make sure they are with Verizon,.. and not another carrier. Apples and Oranges. Once that is established,.. If/when you decide to sign up,.. ask Verizon specifically what you need. And make sure they answer exactly what you need. If you get the well I am not certain or sure,.. ask to speak with someone who knows for sure. This way you have both,.. the phone and the service covered and will know for sure you will have what you need. Hurst
