Verizon has a huge hole in central TX surrounding Brownwood. Roughly a 75 mile radius. Verizon customer will have voice service but no data. Storm chasers hate operating there.

That said, Verizon still has the best overall LTE data coverage on a nationwide basis. ATT is probably on the same level. But the others are getting better every year with new towers and service sharing contracts with existing tower networks.

Will the new one be more affordable for you?

I think that would be the determining factor for me. I mean if I understand correctly,.. both offer you unlimited data correct? Same network? So,.. its just a matter of the price point.

    Yes.
So currently I have 2 separate accounts with VZW.
One with the old Unlimited plan I use for data only.. (Hotspot).
And one on the new plan with 5 gigs.

If I drop the old Unlimited line and upgrade my other to the new unlimited plan I will save about 60 a month.

    dca and Hurst Thank this.

That would seem a no brainer to me.

How ever,.. I think I understand your concern. What if they decide to cancel the unlimited plan? Or raise the price?

I dont think they will ever remove the unlimited plan ever again. Too much competition and look at how the others are scrambling to 1 up Verizon. They may raise the price,.. but as long as the others are trying to compete Verizon, I doubt they will. If anything,.. I think they will eventually open up the restrictions in place now.

I had a 40gb data limit. I saved over $90 month by switching to the unlimited plan. Took me all of 3 micro seconds to decide which was better. 5 minutes online and I switched over to unlimited. Next bill was only $51 due to the pro-rating from what I had paid on the previous bill.

I am currently paying $98 month for unlimited with insurance, 25gb cloud for 1 line. No complaints at all. I have not noticed any difference in service.

Not when you use your phone as a hotspot.
I was thinking about switching until I really read their page on plans and charges

I went from 130 a month to 85. All my usage is hotspot even at home I stream most of my tv programs. When at home I just run a HDMI cable from my laptop to my tv.

On occasion I see a LITTLE throttling not that much it usually just takes a few extra minutes. I just go outside an have a smoke and come back an I can go ahead and start what ever I was going to watch. I've not ran into any buffering as long as you wait for that little bar to be at least half way across before you start the stream.
I'm assuming you now what I mean. This isn't always the case though it just depends on how busy the network is at the time.
    I'm not disappointed one bit.
